Your evidence is not evidence
Where is the evidence that any of the "books" contain actual portrayal of events as they happened? The Bible is not evidence.
Ok, let's even assume that the facts were true originally as written, but over time they were translated, recopied, etc. Errors are bound to be introduced over time due to the hundreds of keepers of this "data". There were dozens of written histories (which survive to this day) which contain basically the same information about some of the early days of Christianity - but not all of the information is the same. Apparently some of the Old Testament is the same.
Many of the stories of the Bible survived as oral histories only until the days of the more advanced tribes introduced the written word, Egyptians, Babylonians, etc. Ever play the game telephone as a kid? Pass around a story to 10 people and it will sometimes not even resemble the original one.
"Is God dead?" is the wrong question. "Does God exist?" is the more accurate one.

Evidence of Bible as more than stories
Chris, certainly proof God exists is important, but only a fool says in his heart there is no God. Anyway, the oral histories written down over time were also backed up by various authors of the period whose works remain to this day. Josephus was just one of quite a few.
