Bring on the Jackbooted Thugs

Excellent, VOR

You know the dictum: "When the electorate awakens to the fact that they can vote to themselves the largesse of the Treasury, democracies fail".

Unfortunately, I truly fear we are living in exactly that era.

My Hero, David Crockett,...

while serving in Congress voted to give federal money to some one whose house burned. Later, he met a man who severely worked him over (verbally) for giving "the people of the USA's" money away for something that had nothing to do with the Constitution or the running of the government.

Crockett immediately got the point and in Congress renounced his own vote. (He also said that he would be willing to put up his own money; but NOT the money of the people.)

I, for one, understand the point. If we pay the "Danegeld", how do we get rid of the "Dane"?

And the Rats of America say...

We Want More Free Cheese!!!!!!!!!!

Well, what I want is

my government-giveaway Porsche 911 Turbo Carrera.

I have a "right" to it. I can't afford it. The government should give me one.

BrianR, I feel your pain ..

.. and think that it is unfair, maybe even criminally unfair that you are distressed about the lack of your dream car.

And, you know what? I've seen some rich people driving around in YOUR car. I'm sure that this causes you to have sleepless nights, and keeps you from finding meaningful work.

Not to worry, along with a few other well-meaning people, I will right this wrong. After all, I am an agent of "change" and I have the Audacity to Hope that the world can be a better place .. for you, and for me (as your President).

I propose -fanfare- the Universal Auto Program.

Never again will the working poor (of which group I'm sure you belong) have to be denied their automotive necessities by cold, un-feeling banks. Just as patients deserve a Bill of Rights, that allows them to choose their Healthcare without concern for costs -- automotive consumers will be allowed to choose their vehicles.

Why should bankers and/or insurance oompanies decide your level of automotive profligacy?

Thank you for your support!
