Well done, Glenn! Very well written and thoughtful. Though I am not a scholar of the Constitution, I do know when boundaries have been crossed. I am heartened by Justice Bader-Ginsberg`s stay to halt the bankruptcy of Chrysler. Other little bits in the news also. prez got his head shaved today ....

That is what Oath-Keepers is there for. They have made it known, un-officially, that they would back a legal, Constitutionally backed movement if it came to that.
That group has more Oath takers than there are on active duty.
Also, this wouldn't be the first time. See my next post later tonight.

Two bits of good news today, that decision by the court, and two New York State democrat representitives switched to the GOP, giving them a slight majority in NY Assembly.

Wow ! What an idea.
I'm all for anything that is legal, moral and will work to get the rats that DC is infested with removed from our sight. Prison is an idea that makes me smile from ear to ear. Go for it and keep us posted on what you hear.

We WILL survive and THRIVE as a people and a country. This is just the DYING gasp of the Syph Riddled, Drug Addled, Leftover Hippies. A son of one such was elected POTUS and they KNOW this is their last chance.
Q: WHY do you think they are push so hard to pass everything so FAST?
A: 2010 and 2012.

But Will the States Do This?
I am not sure that as of today (06/09/09) this could occur. I also see problems with at least 5 of the 50 states (California, NY, Mass., Illinois, and Michigan) doing this.
Other than that, the other 45 states are already leaning this way. The number of states that are considering 10th Amendment bills keeps growing.
If the vast majority of states did this, it would not be considered either a revolution or secession.
This is an interesting concept.

Glenn from Glennq
Look, the old Articles of Confederation were too weak for a huge America. Still, it did have state sovereignty. We need in each state to force our varied legislatures to remember the 10th Amendment. The idea from the Founders was a Contract. A social, economic and military contract. People since the '30's have forgotten this. It is now all an entitlement mentality which is causing this naif in the WH to think he can get away with a socialist pacifist agenda. We must remind him, Congress and all 50 state legislatures that is simply not Constitutional. Drop by my latest friend.

The contract aspect is the key. Most people don't know that and see the Constitution as being created specifically for the rights of the people. That was one aspect.
The people were the creators of the Constitution and the federal gov't. was a result, not a party to the contract.
I'll post the final word on State's rights later, along with some SCOTUS decisions that completely wiped out a lot of the Constitution for all practical purposes.
Thanks for the read Glenn.

Glenn, a great first step
Something like what you've created needs to get traction - starting now. It will take a while for citizens to accept the concept to the point that the state's legislatures cab be forced to act. It can't happen today, but we've got to start today if it is to happen in the next ten years. You've made a good start.
