Great points, all in all,but the sad fact is,too many on OUR side have bastardized it as well. Combine that along with the liberal insistence on dumbing down our history education,and wanting to subvert the amendment process for crap they KNOW following the proper procedures they'd NEVER get in,leads us to this point. To steal a phrase from Dr.King,"I have a dream,that one day,our politicians will actually follow the tenets of the Constitution". OK,OK,I'll wake up.

Republicans have fallen into this as well, as you stated. If they do change how amendments are done, there will be just cause for an uprising.
