The KKK was originally a tool of the left. The extreme right may engage in cross burning just like the extreme-moderate left engages in… well here ya go:

The burning of car dealerships, condos, ski resorts etc.
The releasing of test animals which usually end up as road kill.
The support of killing babies.
The non-support of capital punishment.
Direct support of the Islamic enemies of this nation and its people.
Your politicians receive donations not only by known radical Islamist associations but also the Communist Party USA.

the left embraces radical islam because they are both blinded by hate. They are so blinded they want the rest of the world blinded, then they can take off their blindfolds and rule it over everyone.

why do so many people want to make them look so inocent?

is that they, the liberal left, are cowards at heart. The Islamofacists have a sword (and various other weaponry) in their hands...not too many Christians that I know of seek to stifle opposition with literal physical violence (remember the Pope's comments and the subsequent turmoil throughout the world?).
