Give me a break

"After all, if a viewer is an English speaking citizen, then they can watch on ABC. They don't need Univision."

If you you speak English and Spanish, then you indeed don't need Univision. However, if you are conservative you can watch ABC and don't need Fox News. But Fox News is a place where conservative can hear things from their point of view. Similarly, Univision is a place where Spanish speakers can hear things from their point of view. Many people are U.S. citizens and know Spanish. Think about where the event was located: Miami. The overwhelming majority of Spanish speakers there are legal residents.

And I find it ironic that you invoke God's name to support your views. I doubt God supports such xenophobia. And don't try to be another conservative who denies xenophobia. Who are you trying to kid?

Give ME a break

Manx,

Do you really believe that a Presidential Primary Debate, especially in the present political environment as it pertains to illegal aliens, broadcast on a Spanish-language station in the highest majority Spanish-speaking city in America was really about informing American Spanish-speakers about issues from "their perspective?"

You accuse me of xenophobia. Fine. Don't pretend that this 'event' was something that it was not.

It was not 'information for Spanish-speaking Americans.' ALL Americans are required to learn English.

If you were born here then you were taught English in schools.

If you immigrated legally, then you were required to learn English in order to even raise your right hand and take that little oath of citizenship, and I welcome you as a brother or sister of America.

However, if you are a Spanish-speaking citizen of Mexico who believes that tired, old idea of "reclaiming the Northern Territories," then two things:

1.) This 'event' was 'staged' for staged for your 'benefit,' and

2.) I'm not the one suffering from denial!

Re-read the original article again. My point was not to bash immigrants, Mexicans, or illegals, or to put forward some "pro-Conservative" agenda, as I suspect you suspect me of.

However, I am completely intending to draw attention to the hypocrisy of this 'event' even taking place. It is not necessary to broadcast this sort of 'event' in Spanish, since it is for the Presidency of the United States of America.

And in the United States, we speak English.

Perhaps you should check out the rest of the world, my friend. They all speak English, too. Who, exactly, do you intend on doing business with in 20 years? Me? In the drive-through?

I like Taco Bueno, personally. Number 6 with a Dr. Pepper and an order of cinammon chips, thanks.
