McCain - A Hero for a New Generation

I consider myself polictically liberal, personally conservative... meaning that I believe in a benevolent government protecting all the groups from each other. But McCain as a Liberal hero? I don't think so. That must be some Conservative fanstasy. Just because McCain has some so-called "liberal" views doesn't make him a Liberal, nor does his service make him a hero to true patriot Liberals.

JFK was a hero in WWII. Ollie North was a traitor in Iran-Contra destroying evidence and subverting the Constitution. The military is not a politician's plaything, and the American flag is not cape for wannabe super heroes. After searching everywhere on the web, I simply agree with everything you said about McCain, except that he is the role model for a Liberal hero. A Liberal hero would be one of those old fashioned heroes that actually did something heroic for others, protecting the innocent. You've got Liberals all wrong.
