Good news vs the other kind.

It's really quite simple. Although many will deny it, most of we the people prefer that the news is usually biased, bizarre, shocking. gory, sad, bloody, downgrading, belittling, and spectacularly negative, even biased, among many other undesirable attributes. Generally speaking, the news is given to us the way we the people want it. The positive news/events about good people and good deeds is generally relegated to the back pages. Any news carrier that does otherwise, will be faced with unprofitable circulation and poor readership. A flat tire vehicle off to one side of a highway gets little attention. But, a major problem for traffic police is often the great majority of we the people who slow down or stop to better see the twisted metal, bodies and blood.

Thank the Lord for Neil Armstrong and thank you for reminding us that he is the sort that we hope to emulate.
Bill....For the reasons you state, I never watch local news.
