Sheila--absolutely
And that we think our country is great, our peope the best, and our culture worth preserving.
I reprinted an article entitled "Awakening" back in January...it lists what changed for me after 9/11 and the other "principles" that I now believe in.

Principles
Sanity, principles are the frame work we strive to adhere to, knowing full well we are fundamentally flawed, and praying daily for the strength and wisdom to be better people.
Principles are the eternal structures independent of time and space that can be used as tools to create the world we want to live in.
And some principles are worth dying for, and the ones this country were built on would never leave you dying alone.

Principles without loyalty is rhetoric not worth the paper it's written on.
And no, loyalty isn't earned. In fact it is the thing given for no reason other than an accident of birth or a location.
It is also the basis of EVERY relationship, be it professional or personal. Trust and love and interaction is impossible without loyalty.
Yet loyalty is put aside...in the name of principle.
Something is very wrong with that and if that is the kind of thinking of good Americans / Conservatives...I want no part of that definition, thank you.
