First off, a bit of friendly advice, conservatives already look at most liberals as “slackers” therefore, your choice of titles gives the impression that you are indeed a slacker and that immediately conveys the message of “ignorable”. You might consider changing it if you want your views to be seriously considered. Take it as pure friendly advice, not condemnation.

Your article started out promising but as I have recently learned, to engage in serious dialog if you state: “I DON'T CARE WHOSE FAULT THE WAR IS!” and “I DO CARE WHETHER WE WIN OR NOT!” which are both admirable statements however you wreck the train with your rant: “All the right wing fools on this web site dance around with their hands covering their eyes refusing to see the mess their boys in Washington have made. They scream at the top of their lungs that democrats don't have a plan while covering their eyes and refusing to see any plan other than their own...”

If you want serious discussions then lighten up a bit. Trust me, I understand your outrage and anger because mine is directed towards the left. If you just attack you will encounter defense and no intelligent discussion.

Smarter than the average conservative, with half my brain tied behind my back, including Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter, Mark Levin, Neil Boortz, Michael Savage, and of course, Mountain Rose.

You sir did not come up with a possible resolution in Iraq, Mr. Biden did.

Thanks for steering me to your blog. I like it. I don't agree with you (as you thought in the comments on the column) but you present your case without all the typical hyperbole.

Here's what I don't agree with, and it may surprise you.

I've been very vocal, right from the start of the was, that the idea of a democracy in Iraq was probably pie-in-the-sky. I've even written an essay or two about it on my blog. I've spent over 5 years in Iran, so I know the region, and I am not sanguine because of the culture.

However, I think Iraq serves us very well as a jihadi magnet, to bring them to an area of our choosing which we can use as a killing ground. We are going to fight these fanatics; that's a decision they made and in which we have no say. However, we CAN choose the place of battle, and Iraq is serving nicely.

Anyway, just a thought or two. I'll be interested in reading your upcoming work; please keep me posted.
