Pretty effective form of keeping the NOCD (Not Our Class, Dear) from ever getting the good jobs. You can't discriminate based a lot of categories, but you can based on education. Of course, a lot of college educated folks tend to be of a certain um, "background" shall we say...

Never gave that much thought until I heard a retiring professor talk about it.
