Were the Cowboys done when they went 1-15 in 1990.
A couple of bad centuries and you want to give up.

Gumball Survey
Hey, drpete:
I read your survey and found I agreed with much of it. As a Christian I do believe we are called to be "salt and light" to our culture, but I worry about how we do that sometimes.
For example, I found Rick Warren's involvement in the debates disturbing in a way that I can't nail down yet. I'm still thinking!
Thanks for the comment!
Dave

Not Yet?
Hey, David:
First off, I understand now your long silence on the blog this summer. Please accept our prayers and condolences to you and yours.
As to the blog, I don't think it's about giving up; I just think that this leviathan is becoming increasingly untenable. On one front alone, for example, we are seeing abject failure, i.e. the attempt to forcibly unite too many disparate cultures and values. Held hostage by a poem on the Statue of Liberty (i.e. "Give me your huddled masses . . ." etc.), multi-culuralism, diversity, etc., we are bound to fail. America, as you and I know and/or conceive of it, is a set of values commonly held. True Constitutional liberty can only survive if we embrace those Judeo-Christian values of our Founders.
Our federal masters seek to combine in a secular, Babel-like amalgam (sp?), groups that simply were never intended to come together. I can no more compromise with a Teddy Kennedy or Barack Obama who endorse the murder of innocents than I can with a radical Muslim who seeks to murder me and mine in the name of Allah.
I endorse the same solution our Founders did: Secession!
