Damn, damn, damn!
How could this judge say that these men did nothing wrong? I don't care of they were "acting like thugs", whatever the hell that means! It is pretty obvious that these cops probably didn't identify themselves before shooting, and that they were poorly trained at best. But it was brilliant to get a bench trial, because a jury of twelve was not going to buy what the defense was selling. I am convinced that the judge, because he is a part of the system and works in the same circles as cops, was probably predisposed to believe their testimony. To not even examine why the mystery man at the club couldn't be found, or to examine the whether or not the cops identified themselves is ludicrous!!! Whether these guys identified themselves is of paramount importance, especially since no gun was found in Mr. Bell's car. You have a bunch if clowns with guns opening up on people and the judge basically saying that because the victims had criminal records they were not believable. If that is not judicial bias, I have never seen it. Damn, dog! I guess these guys would rather be judged by one than have to face a jury of their peers! And for the judge to...I just don;t know what to say. that could have been anyone out there, and there was no justice for those families. If there was an altercation, why didn't the cops just arrest the people involved? And why does the judge act as though the men shouldn't have been there? Hell, what strip club hasn't had some pro's working the club at one time or other? Is the fact that there may have been prostitutes on the site a justification for emptying your gun twicw on someone that never even threatened you? I guess for this judge it is.
Man that is F'd up on every level!

hard to believe
I can't believe the officers walked with no penalty. If they may still be penalized at work that means they obviously did something out of line. Apparently it is extremely difficult to convict police officers of killing American citizens. In this case 50 bullets (with a reload) and no return fire would indicate an out of control situation and an unnecessary overreaction of deadly force. Crazy. Just plain wrong. I don't want officers who fire wildly to be on a force at all.
2 more things:
The only officers who will get convicted are the ones who try to enforce the border and shoot at foreign drug dealers. Ramos-Compean. This is just wrong too.
My aunt was shot to death by the police in Louisville, KY back in 1979. I think there were 30 something bullets in the car. My family got no satisfaction either. I am not bitter at all police because I know some really good ones but I know they cover their butts and circle the wagons when they need to.

WHAT Justice System?
And why no jury? because they're cops? This is really sad! If there was so much publicity, they could have had a change of venue! You know, this is the kind of thing that screams of racism. I don't care if two of the shooters were black! It also makes you think that the judge was Hand-Picked. Sorry to hear about this. Of course, they wouldn't KNOW these guys had rap sheets Before they shot, so all the evidence they used in court to me seems w e a k!
NO GUN in Bell's CAR!! HELLO! Doesn't that stand for something? It's amazing how some are "Above the Law" because they "Enforce the Law!" We have it all over the US!

I keep checking your blog to see if you've posted something. I hope everything is okay. I know you had a family emergency last month. I'm just concerned about you. I was wondering where you disappeared to and I hope everything is okay.

str8 talk
Hey str8 talk. I just saw your message. I responded on my blog as well as here. First off, I thank you for concern. I really do. I have had a few family emergencies that have taken my time away from the computer. Being a parent, husband, and provider doesn’t leave much free time. Lol!
The truth is that I have been dealing with the deteriorating health condition of my two grandmothers. My one grandmother has an ever advancing case of Lou Gehrig's Disease (ALS). The other has an early to moderate case of Alzheimer's disease. Being that Both live within a 10 minute drive from my house and being that their children, minus my own parents, have all left DC, I’ve been called upon to be that “rock of strength.” My parents are not as young as they used to be and need the support. Truth is I’m quite blessed to be 34 and still have both of my grandmothers still around. However, it makes it that much harder to see these women whose impact on me has so been great, slowly wither away day by day. Truth is my family emergency was me being called at work and hearing my sobbing father tell me his mother (ALS) is at the hospital and is on the verge of death. Let me tell you, when I walked into that hospital room I had never seen my grandmother look so bad. Thankfully, she recovered somewhat. However, I know that she may not be here much longer. I tell you, life is not easy.
Things are stable for now. I’m going try to resume my position as the liberal lion of TH. Thanks again for your concern.
PS: I'm glad were in agreement about the Sean Bell case.

Sorry to hear of your grandmothers'health problems. Having one deteriorate at a time would be bad enough, but BOTH. You do have your hands full! I've always been the rock in my family as well, but remember even the rock needs someone to lean on, be it God, your spouse, a good friend, or whoever, don't forget to let others help out! Don't push away their offers, you may be robbing them of a blessing, I only say that from experience, not as a correction. I've always felt I had to do everything.
I'll keep you in my prayers and I'm truly glad to see you back. I'll keep your grandmothers in my prayers as well, either condition is not good!
Thanks for coming by my friend, I thought you had left or I would have added you to my last story. Check it again. ;)
