How many "false claims" have there been? Two?

How many?

Obviously I can't give a detailed accounting, because I am not aware of everything that has been thrown around. All I know is that in the emails that have passed through my mailbox, there have been many claims that I know are false, mixed with many that I believe to be true, or for which I do not accept the "Fight the Smears" responses. Some may be true, but simply cannot be supported, and are therefore just as problematic. The point is, if we just throw everything at him and hope that something will stick, he will achieve that Teflon status that Bill Clinton achieved.

As an example, I'd like to say that he was a member of the communist New Party. But do we have indisputable proof of that? If we don't, we run the risk of being called McCarthyists, and anything else we say will likely be ignored.

Meege:I believe grass roots.......

would also work to debunk his health proposal. I have several blogs with my points, and KevInFl also helped. check out Irisheyes too.

Another good post Meege

I don't know of many claims made against Obama that haven't had some truth in them. The problem is that because some may not have been ENTIRELY true, Obama has been able to paint them as FULLY false, thereby obscuring the truth that was there. "He is a Muslim," is one, his association with Wright and Ayers (and others) have been characterized as minimal, casual, etc. to brush them off as unimportant. It's our fault (and McCain's) for allowing them to get away with that. You're right, some claims have been so diluted by now, that even with new evidence, it will be difficult to give them new exposure.

But all is not lost

I do think there's good news, though, Garnet92, because I actually believe we can win this election without exposing Obama's shady political and ideological comrades. I really do think that focusing on his extreme liberal politics, just those views he has willingly expressed, as well as his frightening lack of experience as an executive and on foreign policy issues, will be enough to move the undecided voters toward the less risky candidate, McCain. I also think it goes without saying that McCain is a very well respected man and his qualifications are beyond doubt, and that makes it easier for voters to turn to him when they realize that now is not the time for risk.

From: Gabrielle Cusumano on your comment. Thanks for the link and the great "find" of your research, I will create another post with it (in hopes that some of the many "page viewers" will stop long enough to read and become aware before the election! Thanks again.
