But, neither is war mongering. I would not trust a President for one minute who wanted to disarm us, or who did not advocate peace through strength. To me, it's absolutely ludicrous to take the stance that if we were attacked, or an imminent threat existed to our national security, that we would not take quick and decisive action.
Unfortunately, our national security is not the goal of what this administration is pursuing. If it was, they would have secured our ports and borders, long ago. They would have stayed focused on taking out our attackers, who have now escaped to Pakistan and rebuilt. They would have enforced our immigration laws, instead of trying to cram amnesty and open borders down our throats; not to mention allowing Mexican trucks to freely enter our country with God knows what, on board.
Instead, we attacked a country who had nothing whatsoever to do with 9-11, and whose leader as distasteful as he was, was a sworn enemy of our attackers, not to mention served as a check on Iran. Does this make sense to anyone? Now, we are threatening yet another sovereign nation who did not attack our own and we have been told we will never leave Iraq. Does anyone honestly believe that there were EVER plans to do so? There are, at last check, 16 permanent bases in Iraq. We are told that we cannot leave Iraq, because we must help the current government and because Iran might take over. Is anyone thinking they didn't know this would happen, when they went in? If you do, you should listen to Cheney talking about just that thing in '94.
