Comment on: The Ramblings of an Average American

Analysis of Kesler and Neocon Foreign Policy

And It Boils Down To

This is a great analysis Wil. My daily prayer is that the American people will somehow remember the hope and promise of their country and understand how vital eventual victory over radical Islam is. Our constant internal one-upmanship, posturing, and trivializing of this war could mean the eventual demise of our freedom and liberty. Radical Islam is deadly serious and we are busy "playing" political games.

I see it when listening to liberals in our area. They talk about the importance of biodegradable grocery bags and the brilliance of Al Gore. They believe the threat of global warming far exceeds any danger from groups that seek our destruction. It is like we speak two different languages and to converse together about anything of importance is almost impossible. As John Edwards says we do have "two Americas", but they aren't divided into the rich and poor as he believes. We need leaders and regular Americans who can bridge these divisions without caving in to the insults hurled at them. Thank you Wil for being one of those voices.

Excellent article.

Can we see this through? As you said, our track record since Viet Nam has been to cut and run as soon as the going gets tough. We've only got Bush for another year and a half.

The irony: Our Congress cannot agree on anything, but expects a new democracy to perform better than they are!

Sandra..

"The irony: Our Congress cannot agree on anything, but expects a new democracy to perform better than they are!"

That is an incredible, insightful, succint, keen statement. The word "perfect" doesn't do it justice.

Jimmy Carter:

Wow, thanks. My current blog is on that topic. Now that I read your comment, I probably should have written it around that statement!
