I Miss Burt Prelutsky!

PS to my post

The technical difficulties that I consistently experience at TownHall have contributed to my frustration too, since I don't experience difficulties on any of the other sites I post on.

Burt's absence

Beleive me, TH was threatened by ACORN, somehow. They (ACORN) were even able to get Wall Mart to drop the Glenn Beck show! I also miss Burt a lot. He was one the only columnists who actually responded to his emails and made us feel as if we really were a part of TH. With him gone, I really don't trust some of the columnists who have been newly assigned. I don't think Burt would even consider coming back to TH. If we all quit TH, our voice will be silenced. We can't afford to do that. Please hang in there with the rest of us. If ACORN was so afraid of Burt, think of how they feel about us? If we drop out, they'll certainly be clapping their hands in glee.

Farmer's Wife

I enjoyed Burt's columns more than the others. I have not been back so much since he was fired. It seems to me that TH is changing and not for the better.

Take care of yourself, my friend.

I like the writers

but I don't think much at all of the management staff of TH.

I have had occasion to email them on several matters, and I have never once received a reply.

I doubt that they even read the emails that come from their readers.

Who Knows

I think Burt did mention he recently used poop and Islam in the same title. He thought perhaps this caused the problem. However, TH's editors never returned his emails.

That explaination doesn't hold much water as there are plenty of pundits who use more far stronger language. I always thought Burt was much more tame than 90% of the pundits here. Perhaps that was his problem. I imagine those commentators who generate hundreds of hits a day (ie Giles, Adams, Coulter) are crowding out the more genteel ones. Twenty bucks a column is jump change, and I don't think Burt will miss it much.

I miss Burt

Can't believe what I am reading! I love Burt's sarcasm, humor and his columns were the ones I most often forwarded for a good laugh. How could TH let him go? I am cancelling my subscription. There are some elites I would not miss if they would disappear, but Burt? This is an outrage!

Burt Prelutsky

Not only have I noticed that Burt is gone, but I have also noticed that there are some liberal bloggers columns on this site now. If TH keeps this crap up, I will stop going there myself. Might as well go to Huff N Puff or Daily Kos if I want a Communist or Socialist viewpoint. Thanks for the heads up about Burt. I will look for him on other sites. Thanks--Greyhawk in Al

Note: my blogs are Greyhawk in Al and I have two sites there called Take Our Schools Back and Take Our Communities Back. Check it out, but ignore typos, etc. as I write as I think and seldom edit for errors, but you should be able to get the context.

I've been missing Burt, too!

Burt's columns were always the first I read, and I have been wondering what happened to him these last few weeks.

I've also wondered if Burt is related to Jack Prelutsky, the wonderful writer of comical poetry for children. Burt and Jack seem to share a similar sense of humor.

There must be more to the story of Burt's departure.

To all

I, too, was distressed with the strange way that Burt, my absolute favorite columnist, suddenly left TH.

A couple of weeks ago, I got curious about where he had gone and started a little search. I am happy to report that he is alive and well, and is posting, at least in part, at BurtPrelutsky.com. He has one post there that goes into some aspects of his parting with TH, which JPK has addressed in some part. I inferred from his remarks that the TH staff was reacting to threats or pressure from CAIR or equivalent bacause Burt dared to tell the truth about the Islamo-fascists.

When I read the article, I got so mad that I also decided to leave TH, and therefore proceeded to establish a new blog at Blogger.com. As Farmer's Wife points out, I also have been frustrated with the technical difficulties that TH seems to not be interested in correcting.

GunnyCee is probably correct about not leaving, but one has to take a stand. I intend to keep my TH blog for a while, but would welcome any and all of you to visit my new blog, not exceeding the limit, at http://gepaza,blogspot.com/

In any case, best wishes to all!

And, further

Burt's comments about the TH thing is addressed in his article entitled Some Townhalls are Worse than Others.

http://prelutsky.blogspot.com/2009/08/some-townhalls-are-wo rse-than-others.html

And my inference about care was a little more than that. In re-reading that article, I am reminded that Burt's ending words actually drew me to that conclusion.

I apologize!

My brain is slower than my fingers, which type at a rate of 14 words a minute.

In my last comment, it's CAIR, not care.

And, in the first comment, my new blog is at http://gepaza.blogspot.com/

Thanks to everyone...

who has taken the time to comment. I am very frustrated with the many things that seem to be going very wrong in our country.

Even though it is horrible to think that TH's action against Burt may have been due to pressure from CAIR, etc. For me at least, that is a preferable thought to the one that I have been having, which is that it comes from other "so-called" Conservatives, aka Kathleen Parker, etc. who would just like to see those of us who are more willing to actually stand up for those principles we believe in, and that our founders believed in than to compromise with the Socialist Progressive movement afoot in our politics.

Grace and Peace be unto you all from a fellow traveler and for the Lord God of All!

Burt Prelutsky is on:

WorldNetDaily.com or tag through joseph Farah - I check Drudge and you can do either. Burt"s column appears on Wednesday!

missed

I think Burt had some humor that would be easy for the opposition to make too much of.

I would think Townhall would like to make it up to us all; may I suggest firing Kathleen Parker as a peace offering.

Everyone here should man their posts and soldier on! Esp. you, Summers. :)

PS, I'd pay him to start posting! lol
