A sad day

Tragedy by all accounts.

Way of the world

Well spoken. And this will be a story repeated in some way or fashion till the end of time, just as it has been true from the beginning of time. Unfulfilled potential of a young person dying early. Hard on society, devastating to the family and friends.
As for your posting before this (Patriotic Liberal an oxymoron), Townhall consists of 2-300....strange people. I am a moderate, which to them means I don't have the guts to say I'm a liberal. In reality it means I have liberal and conservative views on different subjects, and somewhere in between on others. Life is not digital, it is analog. To pretend a party can totally sum up my beliefs is absurd. Stand up for what you believe in.
Truth be told I am probably more conservative than liberal but I hate liars and misrepresenters. Townhall is fertile ground for both.

Tim

I agree with you. I think it is a temptation to act as though both sides are equally right or equally wrong. People tend to confuse "neutrality" with "objectivity." That said, conservatism is too important an instinct--too important to the character of men--to be left to these second-rate radicals in the Republican party.

and i share your contempt for those who place power over truth, and who care more about scoring a debating point than uncovering the reality of the matter. people become emotionally invested in their opinions and their need to feel morally superior, i guess.

thanks for posting. see you on the threads.
