Obama, I know Jesus, & you are no Jesus
Someone needs to let the Democrats in on a little secret. Obama is not the messiah, even though it is becoming increasingly clear liberals believe he is.

For the Love of God open a bible!!
Instead of the left dropping 30 people in Alaska to find something on Sarah Palin that might bring her down. Why don't they send 30 of their brightest to 30 diferent hotels around the country and pull the Gideon's bible out of the drawer and read it of the love of God!! They would have the cover of the hotel so nobody would know they are reading it and they might learn something. Mr. Cohan, Jesus was not a community organizer. He is God in the flesh who came the first time to take away the sins of the world. He is the true messiah. The left wants to court the evangelicals but refuse to do their homework.

Why are we discussing Cohen?
Ken,
Thanks for the link to your article. With all due respect, I do have a question or two. I too have seen buttons that say the same thing (didn't know Cohen said it) - and maybe such statements are cute or funny, but they are certainly not worth serious political reflection with so much at stake this year.
It looks like (with Cohen and the news media) that we are back to silliness again, as usual.
In my opinion, all this about Jesus and Pilate falls into the same category - silliness. Is this really the debate we (the American people) want to have as we consider candidates for the highest office in the land?
Issues. That is what I think we should be discussing, but I fear the right avoids issues - or at least they seem to be doing so lately.
Why? I am not sure, but it makes me think it is because they do better in the polls with these red herrings (lipstick on a pig and Obama "trying to be Jesus" because someone else said it.
These things grab our attention more than war, health care, tax reductions, jobs, and an economy that is almost at a record low for my lifetime!
In the end, I am beginning to become deeply cynical again - which I was allowing myself to come out of some. We - as an American public - really aren't interested in issues -
so lets keep turning this political season into a CNN/FSN/MSNBC/NPR/EIB version of the jerry springer show and be done with it.
In the end - I think everyone, on both sides of the aisle - and perhaps more importantly, on both sides of the "railroad track" - suffer.

Kevin, Your Comments
Kevin,
I appreciate your comments on my blog. I really appreciate your input as well as those of others.
I have tried to address some of the concerns you pointed out.
It was sad to see Rep. Cohen making these comments on The House floor right after the opening prayer. Donna Brazielle, Al Gore's former campaign manager made the same comments as well. I agree that it is silly to compare Obama to Jesus and the only reason I could figure that they did so was because the media was playing him up to be a messiah and I believe that he was starting to believe it.
Sadly, pundits on both sides are guilty of the same "gotcha" politics that have have crept into politics for last 20 years.
It is very disturbing for me to see the relentless beating that Sarah Palin has been getting from the left aided by the media who no one can deny endorses Obama.
Love her or hate her, agree or disagree with her she should be respected.
I personally respect opposing views yet I will defend what I believe in.
I agree that we should be more focused on the issues facing our nation. Hopefully we can see that during the debates.
I love our country and and pray for the best and I personally do not believe that Obama is the man for this job even though he is a very articulate and educated man. But education never has made a man wise and I for one will always side with wisdom. I have read his books and have read books that have influenced him and so far all of my research solidifies my opinion.
God bless you my son, I love you!
