Comment on: Liberty World USA

Honoring Ross Andrew McGinnis

You are Correct...

Libertyworld, his name should be more well known.

But I realize that it is well known, with the people of this country who themselves are worth knowing. And McGinnis is honored by these people as a real hero.

Yes, Gray Ghost...

This from his dad, who projected an image and spirit of a real Scotsman.
“Ross did what he did for his buddies,” Romayne said. “He did that all his life.”
“I know that [Ross] had no thought of medals,” he said. “These guys don’t go down there and risk their lives for medals. They risk their lives because they’re trying to stay alive and protect the people they’re with. They do the things they do out of love for each other.”

Tom McGinnis remembered his son as a regular young man.

“He made his share of mistakes, he wasn’t the ideal student, he wasn’t the athlete of the year, he was just a normal, ordinary boy who joined the Army,” he said. “He was asked to do something extraordinary and he did it.”

"I guess about the only thing you're really going to remember about my son is that he did the right thing at the right time,"

Thank you for this post honoring Ross McGinniss.

This is indeed something that the public should be more knowledgeable of.

In my opinion, this is more newsworthy than much of the crap that is in the news every night and in the newspapers.

Curtal Friar

Absolutely!
This young man represents something important and vital.
A fine Scotsman.
Quintessentially American.
We love life.
Even to the point of sacrificing our own to save other's.
As opposed to sacrificing our own to take other's.
A distinction worth noting.
It also illustrates to what degree our troops respect and love those they serve with.
He was a good man.
Rest in peace, young McGinnis.
