I too was a young LT. Medical Svc. corps officer at Dong Tam with the 9th DIV that day. I was part of the escort team for Winters to tour the medical facility of my medical company supporting the 2nd brigade. Winters personally spoke to every patient in the post OP ward with different joke for each. I will never forget his visit.
