The Enemy, Ourselves

Doomed by Popular Demand

Great point. While the 'majority rule' is a decent power check, it is no substitute for quality leadership. It's distressing to see that due to the uninformed masses, rash decisions are not only being forged by certain leaders, but are being upheld be a nation of fence sitters.

The Iraq war may indeed be showing how we can be beaten. Not through strength. Through wide-gated flaws in our tactics and organization.

This is a game of chess. We have now, as a nation of war, become so hasty and ignorant that we are the kids who try to make the 'horsy man' jump over opponents pieces in an attempt to get 'kinged.' Good chess players, and war strategists analyze not only the opening move, but anticipate every move that their opponent will make during the game. They will not only have studied successful moves, but they will know how to silence those who bring up this 'made up' attack stratagies.
