You make a good point that between elections, voters ire is directed at officeholders, i.e. our distress at Dewine joining the gang of 14. However, Sherrod Brown is beyond the pale.

Go back to about 1998. When the Democrats were looking for leadership, they selected Lee Fisher instead of Brown, even though Brown was the retiring Secretary of State and should have been in line to win the party's endorsement for governor. Wrongo! Even the Dems knew better.

Brown is really the reactionary in the race by failing to recognize that it is a new world and opposition to North American Trade Association and free trade because that is is what it is all about these days. The reason for that is that more people benefit in the long run without all kinds of barriers such as tariffs, quotas, etc. Brown is still stuck going down the line for the old industrial unions whose glory days are past.
