You have voiced the thing I have been writing about for years. No one in government seems to care. But let's keep trying.

I couldn't agree more. I recently wrote up a blog pot covering the monetary expenses of sex offenses in the State of Minnesota, which is of course in addition to the physical and psychological cost of sex crimes... It's absurd. Sex crimes cost upwards of $8 billion a year in Minnesota alone.

I think you're right on with your one-strike and out for sex offenders, given the costs of "rehab" and the liklihood that they will reoffend anyway.

Eight billion dollars (a year???) is a lot of money to have been spent on this problem. And just in the state of Minnesota?

"Rehab" is worthless. Personally, I believe the only reasons these slugs attend these sessions are these: (1) they're required to; or (2) they get off on them. That's all the good they do.

I believe these people are warped from day one -- from the day of the first offense -- and no amount of counseling or so-called "rehab" is going to change them.

The only way to guarantee the safety of children -- or grownups, too, for that matter -- from these cesspools of individuals is to remove them from society.
