The Emerging Obama

platitudes

How do you think Bush got elected - platitudes, most of which turned out to be lies, except the ones about obscenely lowering our taxes and educational standards.

McCain speaks only in platitudes "my friends"...give me a break.

That's what politicians do! They speak in generalities to appeal to the masses. McCain's senility has robbed him of the ability to make sense though. As for Bush, it was probably his drug abuse and drinking.

Not going to tell you

You highlight why experience and a record in office is important. Obama has done little in office. He has the most "present" votes of anybody in the Senate. Bush had a record as governor in Texas. McCain has decades in Congress. Everybody uses platitudes, but what gives them substance is the experience and record of performance. Obama is a blank slate, and he's getting blanker all the time.
