Democrat Donkey Kong Gone Terribly Wrong

Impressive!

Either you are keeping a book or you have a fantastic memory!! What a catalogue of sins!
I think I have to agree with you. I don't remember quite as many instances in past elections.
It just goes to show what we all have been saying one way or another...with all the good decent intelligent people in the country, how do we get stuck with these three running for POTUS!!

great post

BTW...did you see that the founder of BET came out and said Ferraro was correct when she said that O-Zebra wouldn't be where he is if he was white? I guess they're gonna try to call him a racist or an Uncle Tom, now...

What's missing?

As you correctly observe these have been the issues that have dominated the press and the public discussion of this election. Gaffe and spin.

What is missing is a substantive discussion of the actual issues. When Ross Perot ran he did try and explain what was wrong and how he would go about fixing it. He got turned into a late night joke with his "charts and graphs".

Who remembers what Dwight Eisenhower said in his campaign speeches? The answer is nobody, but everybody remembers "I like Ike". The great unwashed wants short simple sound bites. Politicians know that droning on about the complex elements of the economy makes the voters eyes glaze over.

"George Bush" is responsible for the high price of gas" works better than explaining how a barrel of oil makes it from a hole in the ground to the pump and the ripple effect that has on everything we buy.

Everyone remembers "Tippecanoe & Tyler Too" but just ask someone today to tell you who Tippecanoe was. In fact the election of 1840 bears striking resemblance to today. Here's a link if your interested. Note the "War Hero" candidate, slogan vs. in-depth plans scenario, and the accusations of elitism.

sarge: what's missing?

HOPE...

of course!

beltway girl

I think you have to see Obama about the hope thing. All I've got right at the moment is bitterness and frustration and a giant outrage set-off by Time magazine.

I wanted to comment on the Utube of the abortion. I think this is the best thing that has ever happened for the pro life cause.

I wonder how many pro choice people will view it.

Hopefully it will change a few minds and allow the babies to live.

As far as this campaign goes, where is the hope? BO speaks of hope, but of course it's a sham.

I'm still "hoping" that if McCain gets elected he sticks to his word and appoints constructionist judges to the Supremes.

sarge and peppermint

sarge, i'm also in a constant state of frustration, bitterness, and anger. thanks for steering me away from time magazine for today... and peppermint, you are not kidding, i also (h-word) that mccain won't mcstrain the sanity of conservatives by playing cutesy with his appointments... i guess we'll all just sit around and (h-word)...

Try to avoid disappointment

Against that end I am lower my expectations. My hope for today is that my wife has a good idea about dinner. If that works out then I'll try to build toward bigger and better things.

that sounds good, though!

i cook, i love to cook. so today, i got some ground lamb and ground round. i'm going to mix the two together and make a "lamburger"! with some nice seasonings, i bet that'll be really yummy. oh my gosh, just saw your "time" cover on your blog... you gotta hand it to the media. greenhouse gases are the next hitler!

"lamburger"

turned out beautifully. now, i didn't grill; too early, did it on a skillet. VERY juicy and tender w/the lamb mixed in. i did almost a 50-50 split on the lamb and ground round. now, i mixed in seasonings w/kind of a middle eastern flavor, cumin and coriander and such. but pretty light. if you went heavy on the middle eastern spices, you would top this w/greek cucumber gyro-type sauce (easy to make, cucumber and plain yogurt base, other ingredients), and onion and tomato. if you go light, like i did, or just use less lamb in the mix and traditional seasonings, you could do the yellow cheese, tomato, onion, lettuce traditional top. turned out very nicely, and i'm very pleased w/it.

I am glad to see that you are preparing yourself for the inevitable takeover of Islam by adding to your middle eastern cuisine repertoire.

Have you given any thought to burka designs? HaHaHa! LOL! I know, cheap shot.

a bad bear design

a little bad bear design. a little brown bear named... named... all praise and honor upon my own soon-to-be-decapitated head!
