Oh, Man, Vox
Well, of course the place looks good on paper when you look at the statistics (while ignoring the unemployment rate, of course).
"Lies, damn lies, and statistics", methinks.
Libs are such losers.

The triumph of Enlightened Socialism
The fact is that Socialist policies cause the best people to LEAVE the State. I guess the only positive attribute of THIS particular Socialist state is that it 'allows' people to leave, and encourages them to remit their foreign earnings back to their home country.
No walls, no armed guards, no jobs either -- but, just keep sending those checks folks, or your families will starve. This is the face of 'enlightened Socialism'.
What I found interesting, is that the article manages to cast a somewhat positive spin on the disastrous policies of the State. The suggestion is "hmm .. unlike the draconian Soviets, these guys have ALMOST got it right. Now, if we can just fix this minor problem, Socialism will show itself as the panacea that we always FELT that it would be."
Of course, Socialists rely upon the fact that there are productive people - somewhere in the world - to help keep their foolish principles afloat. While playing this ideological shell game they squeeze the lifeblood from their own people.

Yep
I just posted a new essay that takes another tack on another issue to reach a similar conclusion.
How's THAT for a subtle plug?
