Stem Cell Research in Missouri. It's All About the Benjamins

Slippery slope

In 2004, the embryonic stem-cell research advocates' argument was that SOMETHING useful should be done with these "surplus" embryos that were just going to be thrown away otherwise.

Now we're in free-fall, approaching terminal velocity on the slippery slope. The Missouri proposition isn't about making surplus embryos "useful", it would create a right to clone human embryos (somatic cell nuclear transfer by any other name is still cloning). This means creating new embryos - read humans in early development - specifically for experimentation.

Exhort any Missourians you know to learn the facts. And PRAY this initiative fails.

Michael J. Fox hadn't (still hasn't?) even read the bill he made a commercial supporting.

It was deceptive in that he didn't specify EMBRYONIC stem-cell research, but stem-cell research generally. Also deceptive to push for something allowing embryonic stem-cell research which seems to be trailing adult stem-cell research in the promise department of late.
