Our Absurd Policies Toward North Korea

Good Analysis Andrews

I can see nothing wrong with it.

I especially agree with your points about a "nuclear" Japan and the Eastern European "missile" shield.

However, Obama and his "Merry" Idiots don't see the situation in these clear terms.

Gray Ghost

I keep hearing about how Bush upset everyone by "throwing his weight around". My problem is that eh didn't. Kennedy threw his weight around more than Bush. Clinton did, but for all the wrong causes (Oslo, Kossovo, etc.) We need a president who actually sues our position in the world, not one who doesn't pursue national interest because it might upset European intellectuals.

Then again, I also think getting a Nobel Peace Prize should be grounds for impeachment. If the Norwegian legislature is that happy with you, you have to be doing something wrong...

ANDREWS

Good piece of writing on the Norks. Evety inch you give them is always a mile too short.

I may come back to this in a more general way, as granting concessions in general is a bad idea, unless you get something even more desirable in return. But just giving concessions to get them to promise to behave is absurd, it only encourages more bad behavior to get more concessions. Every parent knows this, why don't our diplomats?

ANDREWS

Why? The audacity of hope that enough concessions and good will will moderate an implacably evil enemy.

ApolloSpeaks

Of course! Silly of me to forget that, just like Captain Kirk facing alien computers, Obama will just talk our enemies to death.
