Tempest in a Tea Party

Don’t sweat missing the Tea Party

...there’ll be plenty more.

Thanks for gouge on your reads. Personally, I read almost exclusively non-fiction on a plethora of subjects, but mostly military history (go figure). I also enjoy European and American history. Lately I’ve become a fan of politics ala Coulter and Levin. I just finished “The Forgotten 500”; a true story of the greatest POW rescue during WWII. What is really phenomenal about this book is not just the incredible plan and men that carried out the mission, but the post-war politics that kept the story in the closet. Everyone will enjoy this.

Sage advice concerning the Tea Parties. We must maintain the high ground. The left will bait us, with the MSM ready to record and spin the propaganda. They cannot debate the issues, so Team Obama* will demonize us and the movement, the same way they did Bush. It’s not if, but when.

*Team Obama: The executive, democratic congress, judiciary, universities, unions, and MSM.

BTW, I spoke with my wife today who is in Italy; no mention of the Tea Parties in the media there...not one word!

InTheNow

I too enjoy these subjects. But Lamour novels were my first LITERARY love. It is like finding a long lost treasure.

Lamour - great source for names

My father-in-law picked my husband's name from a Lamour novel. How big a fan is that?

I was a big fan of Steele and wanted to see him head up the GOP. I differ with you in that I think the Rush dust-up could have been handled much better on Rush's part. IMO, massive ego clouded simple solution.

Great work GT.

Got me fired up and ready to head for DC. I certainly do agree that "the time is NOW" I think it's now or never. Thanks for your enthusiasm, reality and rousing encouragement.
Keep up the good work my patriotic friend.

Momentum

One way to continue this momentum is to put pressure on the GOP and demand that they complain on a daily level on CSPAN, Talk Radio, the Net and blogs. They might even put out some legislation on cutting taxes and spending though those will not be passed and then have a press conference to explain why the Dems will not do it. They should stand against all the socialist pacifist politics and policies that the naif in the WH puts out. Tea Parties then can include all the anti-American policies that Obama and his Dem Congress stands for. Education of the dumbed down is very important in this sheeple nation nowadays. Drop by and thanks for the facts.

Great commentary. Unfortunate you didn't get the correct info in time to attend but not to worry, plenty more happening. Our Tea Party in Winchester was small by comparison to most, but exemplified the spirit in small town U.S.A. Have pics if you are interested.

You know, your blog post and a couple comments here got me thinking (yea, I know that's not a good thing) ... perhaps it is best the mainstream media NOT cover these civilized events. Seems to me that would only bring out more kooks to provoke negatie activity. Despite what the 'administration' says, they are taking note and so are Senators and Reps. They have to or it will be their downfall come election time. So maybe it's a blessing we are left alone for awhile. Just a small (very small) thought.

georgetwin

I think the next round of parties needs to happen over Memorial Day and then 4th of July a March on Washington.

They are seeing what we are doing but they aren't hearing us yet. They are drawing false assumptions and they still haven't truely heard our message. The next round needs to be larger and the messager louder than ever: WE'RE TAKING BACK OUR COUNTRY!!!!

Oh and I've been reading Vince Flynn. Excellent books.

fear

the left is ripe with it. The attacks by the media, stars, and loony democrats prove this scared the crap out of them! They wanted us to look as bad as possible, making us look like loons, but yet they were peaceful, filled with patriots, and included people of different political and ethnic backgrounds. I met two democrats that said they were "deceived!" Hmmm, maybe we saw this coming?!!

I can't wait for our next tea party, since many heard how popular this one was, I'm sure off a workday in the summer could draw many many more. I think we're having one on July 4th!

Good post.

Summers

OUTSTANDING! Matt Sabre, Tyrel Sackett, etc. GREAT names in them.

BELIEVE ME! Steele has changed since the Shite Fight of the 2006 Elections. He is not fit for the gutter fight the Liberals have picked.

Bobbie

They don't think we are a threat. So we should make hay while the sun shines.

Rackoons

Time for a GOPurge, too many of them are the problem and NOBODY believes them.

Mrs. AL

See my comment to Bobbie.

ASweetheart

Their Denial/Arrogance will be their downfall.

Eric

From what I saw, they looked like picnics.

The time is

Long overdue, but the public's focus on American Idol, various PopTarts and the next installment of their favorite sitcom had been in the way.
With an economy in the tank, they seem to have nore time and inclination to pay attention to what is wrong around them.
July 4 - the next round of Tea Party's

GT

We will be staging another local tea party in our area in June so as not to conflict with any possible plans for July 4th in DC.

You can see pics of the Va Beach party at my place.

IMO, the tea movement must stay focused on returning to constitutional govenment and fiscal responsibility. Wandering too far from that message will give the media and the administration all the ammo they need to develop wedge issues.

I wouldn't focus on party but would rather concentrate on the spenders regardless of affiliation.

SgtRelic

WELL SAID! Nothing I can add.

I've also heard

rumblings of all organizers trying to form a National Tea party in DC in October, imagine a million patriot march!

DaveCatBone

I had an Email to that effect, the date mentioned was Sept 12th.

You ask

"where do we go from here".

IMO, it's not necessary to do anything more than what we're already doing. Obambi & Co are in self-destruct mode. It just needs some time. That end is taking care of itself.

What the real problem is that needs to be addressed is fixing the GOP, and that's a major problem. The placement of Steele as party head doesn't tell me that The Stupid Party has been paying any attention whatsoever. Nor does GOPer continuation of "earmarks".

Pretty hard for the pot to call the kettle black.

BrianR

A GOPurge sounds better and better EVERY DAY!

Gtwin

No need to start with just a counteroffensive, how about just carpet-bomb them?
Agree with Brian,a wholesale purge,or outright disbandment of the GOP may fix it.I do agree with your assessment of Steele, what,he hit his head on the doorway into his new office?

Clyde

HOW MANY years have Hatch, McCain and other GOP Senators been in DC and made little progress on even the SMALLEST planks of the GOP platform? I think Steele took losing and being slandered in his home state HARD!

GTwin

Well,it's official.Specter has finally admitted what we knew for years. Just wish he had taken Snowe,Collins,McCain, and that whole damn bunch with him. The dhimmis OWN everything from this point on,we will have to keep pounding home to the clowns-in-charge at the RNC that we won't miss Specter nor anyone else like him. AFAIC,the GOP needs to go the way of the WHIGS. They've gone beyond their "use-by" date.

Clyde

REJOICE! Now EVERYTHING that happens is OWNED by the Sail Eared Simpleton.

roar is more!

and congress and the white house will hereit when we vote in 2010 and 2012. ole specturrrre just is showing his true self.

Where Is My Comment Georgetwin?

I know I commented here because the next day when I was at Wally World I looked for some Louis Lamour books (they didn't have any).

GGhost

I don't know, GGHost!?!?!?

Georgetwin.....

Have you read "The Haunted Mesa"? One of my favorite Lamour books.

thanks Georgetwin

I fixed your parody to the preferred chorus. Hope you like it! I'll listen to your suggestion and see what I can come up with.

BTW: My BOOK is out soon.

Watch for: Mrs. Paddy's Political Parodies, A Tea Party Songbook for the New Revolution

It will be available thru AuthorHouse and also at Amazon etc. I'm just finishing up the finishing touches on the first galley, so it'll be out soon!

Impressive!

I have been very impressed with the writings of the Bobbie clan. I wish I had some of that literary genius and creativity with words. I am more of a numbers guy (engineer). This may explain why I am more of a fiscal conservative and view spending, taxes, and monetary issues as the most important issues. Most of my writing has been technical writing (short, concise, bland, and to the point). Thanks for visiting my site. I will visit frequently.

Patrick Bolan

It takes all kinds to make it work.

It is very Sad

The left won't be happy till we are totally broke

Any more ideas/reccos for the 4th and your idea? Thinking this would be a hoot to meet somewhere.

Ideas

Hello J. Allen,
You stopped by my blog and asked me to read your piece on Affirmative action. I read it and some other stuff. I like your use of facts, and your facility with names. Good tools in the toolbox.

May I suggest that you simplify the visual appearance of you writing. The colors distract me from paying attention to what you are writing--which is worth a clean presentation.
Keep hammering, brother.
Jim

Noam D. Gear

I only use colors to EMPAHSIZE, although I likely go overboard on occasion. I WILL scale it back in the future.
