So why aren't the Moody Blues in the Rock Hall of Fame?

Hey man, look, I like the...

...Moody Blues too, alright?

But let's don't get petty about Petty, okay?

Paddy

One of my all time favorite groups,I remember dancing with my girlfriend then wife now at our prom, wow good memories, thanks for jolting me back to those sweet memories. Man can't live on country music only. Well at least not in those days, now country is about all that is worth listening to, except the oldies station, and up here country stations dominate the radio waves, three stations I can get at my place, two are local and one out of Helena. Thanks again Paddy.

Cliff Lee Bought The Phils Another Game

..hey..Maybe two!

How'bout that Utley..! Damn, where's Ryan Howard's bat..?

Phils looked....

....pretty good lastnight, and the Yanks still nearly caught 'em in the end.....

It would do my heart goo to see the Phils win two in the Bronx, but it ain't gonna happen.....

Not Likely, That's For Sure...

Phils are so damned weak on relief pitching. But, we're praying for a 7-game anyway.

Did I tell you, Paddy, that Nena successfully stalked The Great Mariano Rivera for his name on a ball at the last game of the regular season in Tampa-St.Pete?? It made her YEAR!

Yes, you did....

Tell the dear woman that Mariano Rivera will forever be the answer to a trivia question.

Some years back, it was decided to retire Jackie Robinson's Number 42 for ALL teams. Players who were currently wearing the number were exempted, with the retirement of the number coming when that player hung up his spikes or was traded.

The trivia question: Who was the last major leaguer to wear Number 42?

So I HOPE he put his number on the ball.....!

Sadly...Nope, Mariano Didn't Put 42

on the ball. But, Missus Neo did know that The Great One is the last holder of the number. I didn't. Duhhh....

Rumors have it that Tokyo hadn't seen as much fireworks--with Hideki Matsui's MVP RBIs last night in the Bronx--since Dad's B-29s paid their nightime visits in '45.

Yanks earned it. I have to admit it. Great play this year. And--unprecedented--a really likable team, as well.

That said...They ARE Evil.

Paddy...

Can you purge from Paddy's Pad the rancid troll who discovered her 'Honors' at HAOM-October yesterday?

Hey Neo....

I asked Regal about that a while back, and he said that while they have that on their To Do list, it is not what you would call a high priority.

This is not the first time she's been in there. Just ignore her and hopefully she'll get bored and go away.

I'll put up a new post when I get a chance. In the meantime, we have the corral. She knows that clicking a moniker takes you to that person'b blog, but she doesn't know that we have more than one. I could have a dozen if I wanted......

Don't worry....this is not a tragedy. Now if Clarity finds out about this place, THAT would be a tragedy....! :-)

Oh, and Keith.....

Don't worry about yesterday. Understandable.....

Once when I was younger I came home to find that my roommate's doberman had taken a dump in my bedroom.

It was remarkably similiar to finding that val thing in my blog.....

Paddy...No Problem...

Hopefully my admonition to the Cabal to not feed the squid will be followed.

I was in a hurry this a.m. and didn't get a chance to see what Mr.Seeker's B'Yotch at you was.

Sheeesh...! :-)

No big deal.....

He takes a shot at me once in a while for my friendship with Vpat.

Some guys can't let things go, I guess.....

Oh....and just in case....

....I sent Regal a follow-up about deleting specific posts from a blog.

I'm not expecting anything to come of it, but I'll let you know what he says.

Meanwhile, let's keep the horsesasses out of the corral.....! :-)

I'm sure some of you....

.....must be watching this WWII in HD thing.

What do you think?

Where's the 'WW II' in HD..?

Haven't heard of it.

It's been on.....

....the History Channel all week. Tonight's the last night.

It's a bunch of people's personal footage shot in color. It's ok....a little lefty, but that's to be expected......

Thanks, Paddy...

I'll try to catch it. Guess this is where one'o'them T-vo thingies could 'hep!

Yeah....

....you definitely don't want to satch during dinner....

....it's seriously gruesome.

Neo

Don't feel like the Lone Ranger,I don't have one of those Tvo thingies either, my kids call me the caveman of the family, and it is not because I walk softly and carry a club either.

I don't have one.....

.....either.

Not sure why, but I never got comfortable watching something that wasn't actually being broadcast right then. It makes zero sense, when you think about it......

.....although when "It's a Wonderful Life" is on, I throw the DVD in there and what the rest of the country takes 3 hours to watch, I watch in 2 hours, 20 minutes. Then I watch the ending a second time.....with everybody else....

....every year. :-)

Thanks For The Heads Up, Landlord...

Nena and I caught several hours of it. Well worth the time. Some of it A-Mazing! Flawed, but well worth the viewing. Hugely moving. I'd never seen footage of Peleliu anywhere near the stuff tonight. I was completing narration sentences before the the Voice Over for Okinawa and Peleliu. GOD BLESS them all.

Flawed.....

....is a good word. It could have been better. They lingered a lot on the gruesome parts, but I suppose when you let pictures tell the story, it's that much more effective.
Telling the individual stories and what they were thinking, etc., made it more personal.....that's something we don't always think about: this is just Joe from Podunk and suddenly he's in the Ardennes freezing his nuts off and getting shelled......
It seemed like they were trying to be fair....expecially when the Hiroshima/Nagasaki thing came up. At least they presented both sides. That's not always the case with the History Channel.....
