Think you are spot on about the civility. I wrote a blog on it also. I do not consider myself a liberal but I must say that the breakdown in manners and level of discourse is very high among many Conservatives and Republicans also. Sometimes it embarresses me to be on the same side of issues as them.

As to the lack of logic and the bait and switch you are also one hundred percent correct. Way to many posters fail to site sources, use bogus stats, and outright falsehoods. The trick in my opinion is to refute the logic but not go for the personal attack.

Liberal by definition is based on Feelings and emotions and not fact and truth.
