Hey,
Could you move your video to the next line. It's stretched out the text following so far into the right of the page that ads are covering it. My monitor settings are not out-of-the-ordinary, and I typically see everything anybody posts if my screen is maximized. But I can't read your narrative.

The real reason for the cooling is that mankind has been running the AC full blast and leaving the front door open. This solution has the global warming true believers in a Catch-22.

neat info/post. but hey, where's corn? just was reading article on here somewhere discussing the rising prices of corn b/c of ethanol(running skep's tank would take a lot of corn)... and the corn goes into feed, so meat is going up, also cereals and such, and even sodapop b/c of the corn syrup. other ones going up are flour and rice. i cook, and i love rice, so i'm very annoyed over the rice. it's odd that peanut butter is one of the few super-affordable household staples left, and we've got farmer jimmy out there...

Milk, cereal, and meat are becoming too expensive to buy (fuel from corn????). Third world countries will start having major famines.
I await with "baited breath" to see how (and if) the "Greenies" will get out of this.
(Thank God that I live in Mississippi. I can always kill a deer, catch some bream at a local lake, and grow butterbeans, okra, sweet corn, and squash in my own "Victory Garden".)

You know if Bush had acted as a stooge of the oil barons like he was supposed to and allowed drilling in ANWR, we could be a mere couple of years away from President Obama taking credit for a boom in domestic oil production. Oh well.

Global cooling? Didn't they talk about that in the '70s?

My son is also nervous about graduating. You guys really don't have too much to worry about. The great baby boomer retirement and march to death is just getting started. There will be lots of job openings, have you considered funeral director? HaHaHa!
Anime? You mean besides having a 22 year old? LOL! Years ago I had a business interest in a Comic Book Store. I'm sure you know the type, Rare Comics, Magic Cards, etc. One of the features of the store was an Anime theater. I don't claim to be a big fan but I do appreciate the art form, especially if it isn't dubbed.
Ah! Nuclear Winter. Yes, the 70's were a time of bad clothes, worse music, and the budding scam that was to become the environmental wacko movement. As I recall "the greenhouse effect" was supposed to make the planet freeze from the pollution blanket keeping the sun from warming the surface. The whole thing went south when it started getting warmer. Are you starting to see a pattern here?

Don't think the climate change idea didn't come up when we had an F-4 tornado last week. The weather "talking heads" couldn't say enough about AGW as a means of explaining a big tornado in an area like ours that gets very few tornadoes.
The truth is no longer and issue.

I'm not surprised. Like tornados have never happened any place except where they happened before.
It reminds me of a theory I've had. I don't believe this planet was settled by aliens as one theory goes. Any group of intelligence would never consider this planet a logical place for colonizing after watching the weather for any length of time. What with tornadoes, hurricanes, droughts, floods, monsoons, tsunamis, etc. this would be the last place I would settle if I had a choice.

The old saying around here has always been; "if you don't like the weather, stick around for a few hours, it'll change."
We get our share of small tornadoes spawned by thunderstorms. Being coastal, water spouts are common and occurred during this event, F-4's are more unusual.
I was out in that area yesterday and they have a mess on their hands, but it is a very localized mess since the storm track was only about 100 yards wide.

It was almost as if I jinxed us when I commented on your blog about the area not usually getting big tornadoes.
I was out in that area yesterday to take a look at the latest addition to the family, my niece had her baby Friday, baby boy 7lbs. 10oz., Mom and kidlet are doing fine. They have lots of cleanup to do, roofing and tree companies are all smiling, insurance companies not so much. The blessing was no deaths.
The storm most of us here fear the most is the Northeaster. Here's a link to the most famous of those storms: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ash_Wednesday_Storm_of_1962
Your right, climate change explains it all. I'll still stuck on how CO2 got to be a pollutant. It is the number one false constant in these climate change models. Yet, it is the first words out of every politicians mouth these days, "dangers of the rising CO2 levels". Danger of what? Trees getting bigger?

You see Sarge just as the US Constitution can create 'emanations' and 'penumbras' which can create a zone of privacy and therefore legalize abortion so clouds of carbon dioxide and incandescent light bulbs can create 'exhalations' which make the uneducated believe that Global warming is not occurring merely because temperatures are declining. Dont be fooled by Right Wing propaganda. George W Bush and Dick Cheney hired Halliburton to temporarily restore the polar ice cap and release a top-secret cooling agent to throw the Holy Green Crusade into confusion. After Hillary's lawsuit against OPEC lowers fuel prices so we will be able to buy bigger cars and drive them farther for less the global balance will be restored and AGW will continue.

This is a truly Machiavellian plan. And here I thought Bush was just stupid, so I am happy to hear that I have been completely wrong. I suppose I will just never understand demockratix.
It is high time that Halliburton puts aside their usual role as a "shadow government" and begins to rule from their right place in Washington.
From one carbon based life form to another, doesn't carbon being classified as a pollutant seem a lot like a step toward euthanasia?
