The Problem with Pastors Part 2

It is extremely rare that I find myself in near complete agreement with anyone.

It is my opinion that much of what you describe regarding the "problem with Pastors" is fear-based. People pleasing in an effort to be seen as effective versus actually being so.

This can result in passive/aggressive behavior. In other words-agreeing to be all things to all people, giving away time that is better spent in prayer and discernment. Once the time is given away, resentment at church members for not "doing" more, or being more self-sufficient supplants prayer and becomes the default position of the mind.

The inevitable end of this kind of thinking is the sense that God is somehow asking too much. This concept of an inconsiderate God becomes, an ineffective God and at it's worst, an inept God.
