Are you serious?

Unless a woman has been raped or is the victim of childhood incest, she makes a choice to become pregnant if she neglects to take the widely available precautions not to. I am, therefore, pro-choice right up to the point when a woman conceives a child. At that point, she has chosen (by her own carelessness perhaps) to become joined to another person. It is simply inconceivable in this day and age that any woman can claim that she is being forced to bear a child against her will; she had the free will to prevent pregnancy and chose not to exercise it. A human life should not be sacrificed because a woman was too lazy to prevent that life from being conceived in the first place.

Because true Republicans support and defend the Constitution AS WRITTEN, we support the right to life first and foremost. So yes, abortion should be a Republican battle. Women do have the right to control their own bodies, but that implies a responsibility to do so as well.

A woman does not making a choice to become pregnant just by having sex. A woman can take precautions to avoid pregnancy, but these are not fully 100%.

Here is the analogy that I've used in the past on this point. This is like saying that if you cross the street you are giving permission to be hit by a car. You are not. You can take precautions and look both ways before crossing, but there is still risk involved.

Also, show me where, in the constitution, it says or implies that one person's life takes precedence over another persons liberty to control their own body.

The 14th amendment says...

"No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws."

By forcing a woman to carry a child, you are depriving her of liberty. You are taking away her right to control her own body and reproductive system in order to turn her into life support for another being, one without self-consciousness.
