Kaurthammer clears up the Torture Issue, for Me anyway.

I'm with Krauthammer about 90 percent. Today on cable TV, however, Bob Baer, former CIA person and now an expert and author--argues persuasively that the times when torture would be used (in Krauthammer's argument) are few and far between. In effect, they don't exist and such torture does not work anyway. This from a man who has "been there done that." Baer was just outstanding today. He defeated Frank Gaffney, in my opinion. He also agreed with Gaffney on the issue of "opening up" the records and memos on torture. "Otherwise," he said, "this thing will never end." I therefore agree with him, Gaffney and Bill Kristol: Let's open up the entire transcripts. The subject clearly merits an ongoing national debate because, as Obama has said, it is all about "who we are."

Even though we never signed the 3rd Geneva convention we have decided to abide by it. The 3rd Convention defines a non-military combatant. The can be held until the end of hostilities.
