Reasons to Vote Republican

Reasons Not To Vote Republican
1. The economy is more of a mixed story that what the Republicans admit. First, wages have not significantly increased--unless you are a CEO. Second, the number of those living in poverty as defined by the gov't has increased in each of the last 6 years(this is a record). Third, Over 45 million are not served with health insurance. Fourth, nobody knows how much the trading of small arms weapons as well as spending on the war has contributed to the current economy. These are important variables that Republicans assume not to be a factor. Of course, we have not even discuss the deficit nor the trade deficit.
2. The War on Terror is being prosecuted in such a way so that the number of our enemies is increasing rather than decreasing. Thus any statistic citing the number of terrorists killed becomes meaningless when the number of terrorist recruits increases. At this point, the War on Terror, more than the War in Iraq, bears an unwelcomed similarity to Vietnam. In addition, our current foreign policies are giving reasons for nations to acquire WMDs.
3. The Patriot Act, which was originally presented in a way where no one was given time to either examine or thoroughly discuss it is a foundation for future growth in government and a decrease in rights.
4. As the Republicans point to themselves as the moral champions of this country, their campaign tactics say otherwise. In addition, time and again, members of this party have lied and their lies are shown even on shows like the Daily Show where past tapes contradict their present claims.
I am a registered Republican who voted for Bush in 2000. It will be a long time before someone can give me enough reasons to vote for a republican again
