The GOP MUST GRAB this opportunity to make ENERGY -- drilling, nuclear, more refineries -- their issue. A new poll came out that 67% of Americans want more drilling and more energy --67%!!!

This new issue for the 2008 campaign, if Republican politicians wise up, could make this 2008 election a stunning DEFEAT FOR THE DEMOCRATS like in 1994. I've written to political candidates, I've written to Sen. Kay Baily Hutchison after she wrote a pro-energy article here on Townhall, and I plan to write to more Republican politicians, that THIS IS THE ISSUE THAT THEY NEED TO GRAB TO WIN!!

So true...my concern is that if the GOP/McCain don't frame the argument around freedom first and money second...the Left will chip away by saying the typical..."what about the environment?"..."don't be greedy...invest in the future."..."what about the children?"...so on and so forth.

What is really classic...is that the Left argument at the moment is that it won't help prices if we begin drilling now....this twisted logic is the same as saying..."I can't save for retirement in one day...so why try?"

Crazy.
