Joe,
Historically, the Labor Party in Israel has become quite similar to America's Democrats both in regard to financial/social issues as well as National Security. To my surprise, and probably to the surprise of Hamas, Hezballah, Assad and Ahmadinijad the head of the Labor party, Amir Peretz, has turned out to be every bit as aggressive a Minister of Defense, in these latest battles, as any Army General that ever occupied that office.
If only we had a few Democrats like him, we'd be alot better off and President Bush would be playing a much stronger hand. Suffice it to say, Joe Biden is no Scoop Jackson!

I agree I wish he would have had enough steam to stay in the race.
