Choice Making

God IS our MAKER, Choicemaker, and He is unchangeble, perfect and pure. He is THE Word, the First and the Last the Alpha and the Omega. But I don't think He is choosing the USA as the home sight of the New Jerusalem. I could be wrong, for it is large enough to contain it. But the Kingdom of God is among men.

Your faith in the constitution as affirming the Maker of it's authors surprises me. Augustine was reputed at the end of His life to have seen his own writings as straw. God gave Moses (and would have given Israel) 10 Commandments. When Moses threw them down, symbolically declaring them all already broken God called him back to the mountain for 613 additional laws, remedies for the breaking of the 10 Commandments.

All this could have been unnecessary should Adam have let go of Eve, or had Eve resisted the serpent. But we are not going backwards but forward to the New Jerusalem. The law that man will establish may periodically forstall the assault on the christian soul and church. But we look forward to an end to the temporal worlds of great catastrophies, oe upon another and another til Messiah returns.

Until then God calls his own to obey Him, His word Jesus, and His Holy Spirit. Secondarily as much as we are able we are called to obey the laws of the land in which we reside temporally. But let us not be mistaken, the U.S. Constitution is a very very pale comparison to the mysterious transformation we will undergo to become "like Him" when we "see Him". Were we to live and preach the gospel, and receive persecution for it, rather than persecution for preaching the ammendments and the bill of rights, and being "good Americans", we might learn some things before the end comes.

Psalm 90
A prayer of Moses, the man of God.
1
Lord, through all the generations
you have been our home!
2
Before the mountains were created,
before you made the earth and the world,
you are God, without beginning or end.

3
You turn people back to dust, saying,
"Return to dust!"

4
For you, a thousand years are as yesterday!
They are like a few hours!

5
You sweep people away like dreams that disappear
or like grass that springs up in the morning.

6
In the morning it blooms and flourishes,
but by evening it is dry and withered.

7
We wither beneath your anger;
we are overwhelmed by your fury.

8
You spread out our sins before you--
our secret sins--and you see them all.

9
We live our lives beneath your wrath.
We end our lives with a groan.

10
Seventy years are given to us!
Some may even reach eighty.
But even the best of these years are filled with pain and trouble;
soon they disappear, and we are gone.

11
Who can comprehend the power of your anger?
Your wrath is as awesome as the fear you deserve.

12
Teach us to make the most of our time,
so that we may grow in wisdom.

13
O LORD, come back to us!
How long will you delay?
Take pity on your servants!

14
Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
so we may sing for joy to the end of our lives.

15
Give us gladness in proportion to our former misery!
Replace the evil years with good.

16
Let us see your miracles again;
let our children see your glory at work.

17
And may the Lord our God show us his approval
and make our efforts successful.
Yes, make our efforts successful!

Who chooses?

Making correct choices requires that we be instructed with correct answers and equipped with holy ability . That is what God will do for those who leave their ego to find the heart and mind of God who lovingly created them and CHOSE them. God help all who name the Name, (and me especially) in this day to abandon corrupted egos in favor of God, who is incorruptable. Only then can they (I) be filled to respond to the moments need.

The U. S. Constitution was not written with a two party system in the mind of, was it Thomas Jefferson? Nonetheless it's not rocket science to see how men would quickly resort to two parties (or more)(see Galatians 5.19-21) and go to war amongst themselves toward the end of their own ego's corrupt desires (see James 4:1-3).

You write: "His Standards and Principles will equip your mind and spirit to think and know beyond your greatest thoughts."

I agree, but hasten to add: "...knowledge puffeth up, but charity edifieth" 1 Corinthians 8:1

My original post was written out of many years of exasperation with churches and christians who will war and send their own flesh and blood to war for a nation, one among many which will become the dust God does regard it as now. "...all the nations of the world are nothing in comparison with him. They are but a drop in the bucket, dust on the scales. He picks up the islands as though they had no weight at all." Isaiah 40.15 This is a warning to consider the pursuits of the moment in the light of what one may possess, or be possessed by for all eternity.

I admit I write out of much disappointement, and no small amount of offense to my pride (ego). Yet IN LOVING CHARITY, will christians not consider that the pursuit of one more disciple converted (thoroughly) to Christ is worth a thousand no, a million, no, it is worth all the votes there ever will be cast for a Republican, Democrat or other?

Choicemaker, I would ask you to give a more specific response to my original blog post above. I am sincerely persuaded that men will profit from a better understanding of the will of God. It is my also sincere view that the establishment of a temporal kingdom on earth by political and military force is not the will of God. The will of God is to me, to submit to His Choices for us to be built into a glorious house, and made a spot and wrinkle free bride.

May God have mercy on me a sinner.
