Charity in the USA

KsReaganite,
I don't know what the general trend is, but I can tell you that in my office, the more conservative voters are also the ones who are most charitable.

I'm in charge of the annual United Way campaign for our office. Also, I used to be in charge of the biggest fundraisers for our Boy Scout troop, when my son was in grade school 4 years ago. In both cases, we did have some very giving people who were liberals, but the majority were conservatives. And it's not because we make more money--the best donations come from the lower salary folks. Amazing, isn't it?

Charity in USA

Couldn't agree more with you Julie! Same in my office. The average, traditional folks give more and quietly while the elite liberals hold gala fundraisers for AIDS that cost more than they raise often.

Charity and donations

The federal government has become the donation center. I call for ending all tax-exemptions. Obama do not want churchs to meet he can increase the tax base without increase any personal income tax. No religious perfrance nor funding abortions both sides win. No funding commmunity activices nor political activices. This would be conservative as it can get, and the Obamanation can rid itself of funding Christian causes. Then there would be a line between church and state.
