As a Californian, I am disgusted at what is happening in my state. I argued along much the same lines as you just did in my own blog. At least five out of six of those phony "budget balancing" propositions were defeated yesterday. It gives me some slight hope that the people of California might eventually stand up and tell the Legislature "Enough!" Great post and great analogy.
