Ball Of Confusion

vote for me, I'll set you free!!!

great song, very nostalgic, yet topical. The current upheaval lends to many of the old songs! Good post...

Sgt. Stryker

Very nice, indeed! I agree with Davecatbone -- nostolgic, yet topical!

Confusion is the theme of this administration. As long as there is confusion, folks will remain emotionally stressed and will not have the time/energy to get to the crux of any matter.

Sorry to go on ... just kind of fell out after reading your post.

The song still resonates

literally and metaphorically...but in some ways diametric to original intentions. The opening line for instance; I doubt Eddie imagined that the phrase would apply to a black man “moving in” to the White House because of his skin color.

Here’s a clip of the song:

And here’s the nearest explanation of “googalooga”. Also apparently pronounced “GOOGAMOOGA”:

I inherited this mess from Bush

Note that the faux Messiah and every Admin. official plus the Congressional Dems use the phrase, it has all been inherited from Bush. Not us chickens. And note, no talking about how the Dems ran Congress since 2006. As for songs that might nail this group of hacks, one would have to go to the '30's with Buddy can you spare a Dime, to rightly deal with what is befalling us under this naif in the WH. Drop by anytime.

Song

For some reason after reading your post, an oldie popped into my, Eve of Destruction. Not sure why!

This administration seems to be quite lost and lacking multi-tasking skills and of course leadership skills.

Davecat

yeah, that line really set me thinking...truly inspirational, given we are in the era of the nanny state. I wonder what else they plan on doing for me?
Thanks for stopping by!

Mrs.AL

You are correct...it's all about misdirection and keeping us off balance. That's why everything is about the urgency of now. They have to hurry before we notice.
I got news for them...we are keeping score. Very little gets by this crew.

Thanks for stopping, and you are encouraged to "go on" while you are here.

INTHENOW

I think Eddie would be good with us taking issue with a black man moving in to the WH based solely on his color.
Thanks for stopping by, for your links and thoughtful comments.

Rackoons

That ploy has worn thin already, even more so with the moonbats on the far left. This "president" is putting his impramatur on everything he can get his grubby paws on, and GWB will end up looking like Lincoln within a year.

Thanks for dropping by...

Sue

I was struck by how easy it is to take songs that were originally extreme in their vitriol towards conservative administrations and turn them right back around and point them at the left.

Here's another great line, from The Who...
"meet the new boss, same as the old boss".

Heh.

Thanks for dropping by!

Sgt. Stryker

The World is a Ball of Confusion only if you have no Moral Compass OR if you serve a False God. Recall the Trials and Tribulations of the Israelites in the Old Testament. God punished them when they turned from him. That is how the Israelites got their name. Is-ra-el means Struggled with God.

I've called the strategy

"misdirobfuscation", sgt.stryker and Mrs AL, but it all changed yesterday. It was in-your-face radical socialism-fascism, naked, and for all to see clearly.

Georgetwin

Thanks for reminding us about what's really important. I think most of us here are NOT confused at all...but so many others out there are very much so. You're absolutely correct, many have no moral compass, and many more certainly don't know God.
Thanks for the thoughtful comments!

drpete

Yup. Plain for all to see, but the kool-aid drinkers are still in denial...see Reich's piece at WSJ

Obamnomics being compared to Reaganomics. Too funny.

Thanks for dropping by!

I wonder also

what the heck googalooga means.

In my opinion, their best song was My Girl. They had so many good songs, I don't think I've heard ball of confusion though.

A song which

is adaptable to nearly every political administration since Teddy Roosevelt

good song

and good use of it, Sgt. Stryker. Well done. Got a new post up. Stop by when you can.

sgt. stryker

Today I was singing "Highway to Hell" in my gas guzzling SUV!

Yes, the songs are out there. I think we are Livin on a Prayer!

Eric,Boaz, Jesse and Sue

Eric-

boaz-so true...funny as well that most of the issues they mention are items where the dems have let minorities down.

Jesse-thanks for the kind words, will be by your place today.

Sue-you're right, lots of songs we could have fun with.Much more of this nonsense from BHO and I'm gonna need "One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer" (h/t George Thorogood).

Good call

It syncs up well with last several decades. I miss Motown now replaced by rap. Good Post!

sgt relic

thanks for stopping by and for the generous comments. This one really wrote itself.

sgt. stryker

I hear George Thorogood in my head now.

I just keep going back to my 80's band, "I'm on the lame train...I got a first class ticket on a non-stop nowhere.....

Did this train stop yet? Can we get out of the tunnel and get a new conductor!!!

sgt.Stryker

many songs will fit this mess we are in because of these bozos who are spending this country into oblivion--o and by the way acording to O-messmaker we are not a christian nation. I have a song that would fit most of us--by the who "we wo'nt be fooled again"!!!good post.

pen captain

That's another great fit, I think I quoted the best line from that song above in another comment. Thanks for stopping and for your thoughtful comments!
