great song, very nostalgic, yet topical. The current upheaval lends to many of the old songs! Good post...

Very nice, indeed! I agree with Davecatbone -- nostolgic, yet topical!
Confusion is the theme of this administration. As long as there is confusion, folks will remain emotionally stressed and will not have the time/energy to get to the crux of any matter.
Sorry to go on ... just kind of fell out after reading your post.

The song still resonates
literally and metaphorically...but in some ways diametric to original intentions. The opening line for instance; I doubt Eddie imagined that the phrase would apply to a black man “moving in” to the White House because of his skin color.
Here’s a clip of the song:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Gy_aahkIdEI
And here’s the nearest explanation of “googalooga”. Also apparently pronounced “GOOGAMOOGA”:

I inherited this mess from Bush
Note that the faux Messiah and every Admin. official plus the Congressional Dems use the phrase, it has all been inherited from Bush. Not us chickens. And note, no talking about how the Dems ran Congress since 2006. As for songs that might nail this group of hacks, one would have to go to the '30's with Buddy can you spare a Dime, to rightly deal with what is befalling us under this naif in the WH. Drop by anytime.

For some reason after reading your post, an oldie popped into my, Eve of Destruction. Not sure why!
This administration seems to be quite lost and lacking multi-tasking skills and of course leadership skills.

yeah, that line really set me thinking...truly inspirational, given we are in the era of the nanny state. I wonder what else they plan on doing for me?

You are correct...it's all about misdirection and keeping us off balance. That's why everything is about the urgency of now. They have to hurry before we notice.
I got news for them...we are keeping score. Very little gets by this crew.
Thanks for stopping, and you are encouraged to "go on" while you are here.

I think Eddie would be good with us taking issue with a black man moving in to the WH based solely on his color.

That ploy has worn thin already, even more so with the moonbats on the far left. This "president" is putting his impramatur on everything he can get his grubby paws on, and GWB will end up looking like Lincoln within a year.

I was struck by how easy it is to take songs that were originally extreme in their vitriol towards conservative administrations and turn them right back around and point them at the left.
Here's another great line, from The Who...
"meet the new boss, same as the old boss".
Heh.

The World is a Ball of Confusion only if you have no Moral Compass OR if you serve a False God. Recall the Trials and Tribulations of the Israelites in the Old Testament. God punished them when they turned from him. That is how the Israelites got their name. Is-ra-el means Struggled with God.

I've called the strategy
"misdirobfuscation", sgt.stryker and Mrs AL, but it all changed yesterday. It was in-your-face radical socialism-fascism, naked, and for all to see clearly.

Thanks for reminding us about what's really important. I think most of us here are NOT confused at all...but so many others out there are very much so. You're absolutely correct, many have no moral compass, and many more certainly don't know God.
Thanks for the thoughtful comments!

In my opinion, their best song was My Girl. They had so many good songs, I don't think I've heard ball of confusion though.

boaz-so true...funny as well that most of the issues they mention are items where the dems have let minorities down.
Jesse-thanks for the kind words, will be by your place today.
Sue-you're right, lots of songs we could have fun with.Much more of this nonsense from BHO and I'm gonna need "One Bourbon, One Scotch, and One Beer" (h/t George Thorogood).

Did this train stop yet? Can we get out of the tunnel and get a new conductor!!!
