No Longer Sleepless on the Left Coast!

LOL-

Yeah, for the same reason I stopped watching the talking deadheads YEARS ago.

Not only is it amazing at how much better I feel, but by getting my news elsewhere I am also MUCH better informed.

Counterintuitive but true.

BrianR

LOL-

Hey, sounds like you wised up way before I did...TV is such a waste of time anyway! But the pundits are enough to drive me totally bananas, and of course, they're usually not as well informed as my Townhall buds, so why waste my time!

Thanks for coming by, glad to hear I'm not the only one who chucked the "deadheads"...nice term, btw.

Oh, and did you hear the governator today?

No, I didn't hear

What did Ahnuld Kennedy have to say for himself?

BrianR

His people contacted Rush over the MSM flap, saying Ahnold would like to come on the show.

It was a friendly but heated discussion...Rush really hit him hard, you can go to http://www.Rushlimbaugh.com for the specifics...quite interesting.

I think if we stay on the governator he'll come back around toward our side...I can hope can't I?

Try not to get too much

news from the MSM.

We are able to get so much more online.

I do not lose sleep over these fools in the media or the liberals I encounter posting here. I do get bothered when I'm leaving comments, with some of the libs there is no way in h--l you can get through.

Below is a letter I got Josue about my problems with Town Hall.

I'm the one. You are not the only one having trouble -- I'm so sorry. Our servers are having trouble keeping up with the traffic and page views.

I was just emailing with out engineers to figure out what they can do. We have ordered new servers and RAM, but it seems the final full fix isn't going to be ready until next week. In the meantime, they are trying to do everything possible to keep your grassroot blogs running as soon as possible.

I hope you will be patient with us as we get the blogs back up on their feet. The growth and traffic has grown faster than expected, so we are working to correct that and make sure you all have a working tool with no technical problems.

Give it some time and then try again to see if you can get back in. I'll make sure to update you once I hear back from our engineers on a fix for now, and of course, as soon as the upgrades are installed.

Thank you for taking time to let me known about your technical differences, and for your patience as we work on making Townhall.com better.

Yeah, you are right about the MSM, and the Left. You just can't let it bother you...

About TH...I suspected that was the problem...too much growth too fast. Hope you're not locked out of your blog! That's happened to me a few times...it feels very weird!

BTW, thanks for alwyas coming by. It means a lot.

Hmmmm...

I just posted another comment correcting my "always" from the previous post, and it's gone.

Sheila

I just read the Governator interview with Rush, and if there's anything ... ANYTHING... that proves my point, that is IT!

Sheila

I just posted the link at my blog (with credit to you, of course) and am thinking of making it required reading in my newly-established course on true conservative thinking, philosophy, and tactics.

I'm going to post a want ad for disciples!

LOL

BrianR

Looks like we're playing tag...I just posted over at your place!

Ha!

LOL

Also, Brian

thanks for the mention on your post...

Sheila

Of course! I always give credit where it's due, and that's a great link.

And we are playing tag!

Thanks Brian

The governator can be influenced, because he didn't sign the gay marriage bill, or the drivers license for illegals bill, dure to hearing from "du peepul"...

so, we need to let our voices be heard on the healthcare issue and whatever else looks scary. We can make a difference, but it takes lots of "vurk".

When his measures went down in flames at the ballot box, he took a turn thinking that's what most wanted, but we're still out here, and we need to be heard!

Tag...:)

Well, I hope you're right

I'll take what I can get, sometimes.

Problem is, of course, this disastrous health care bill isn't an initiative.

Ah yes, the MSM

Hard to watch, but I must dmit, sometimes I am more fascinated with what the Chris Matthew's of the world are saying because it is so easy to see the bias, and I get a chuckle out of it. The most frustrating part is to think about how many people take what these folks say as gospel.

A couple weeks ago Matthew's spent a good 20 minutes it seemed talking about how Cheney really ran the WH and that if Hill won, Bill would not influence her in the least. It is so absurd, really. Not only is it not pertinent, the obvious attempts to derail Bush should open one's eyes.

But alas, as a former boss said, you can't fix stupid.

BrianR

Based on what Mark Larson on KOGO, who evidently is a friend of Ahnuld's, says I feel confident that if we let him know what we won't accept, he will listen...we have to work from that mindset, and be motivated to influence him...

Hey V Daddy!

That's a good one! You make a good point there, being entertained by the likes of Chris Mathews...I used to watch him too, until he started driving me "insane"...

"Mathews spent a good 20 min. saying Cheney really runs the WH"..Oh, please..."and if Hill won Bill would not influence her in the least"...Chris must have been smoking something!!!! Ha! What a riot!!!! If he didn't, it would only be one of two reasons...1.he would be distracted with the latest intern.2.Because he'd have to spend time with Hill...

of course we all know the truth: Bill HAS to stay married to Hill because she knows ALL the dirt on him...plus, how else would he get back in the WH and have access to unlimited numbers of interns????

Virginia Daddy, that was good...glad you stopped by...I'm still laughing.

Tivo is the answer.

I'm sleeping much better now that I have my Tivo. I don't have to watch commercials and I don't even have CNN, etc. programmed in. I can watch great movies. I never watch live TV anymore.

I do watch Brit Hume each evening recorded of course.

I have to turn off a lot of talk radio these days too. It's just a little too early to start attacking our candidates, and a little old hearing the attacks on Bush!

Damn

More comments have disappeared; at least one of my earlier ones is gone.

This site really sucks.

I just sent ANOTHER

email to the techgeeks complaining.

Like that'll help.

BrianR

What did you say in the missing comment?

Also, Brian

I think TH is trying to add more space and are having a hard time because it's grown faster than they expected...try again and see what happens. I'm stoppping by your place to see whassuuup!

Sandra

You definitely have the right idea with tivo. Talk about having it good...I'm not there yet, but hope to be soon.

Britt is the only sane newscast as far as I'm concerned...he does a great job.

Can you believe the latest with the Breck girl? I can't believe he is continuing his campaign with his wife seriously ill.

And all the controversy with Ahnuld and Rush... It is a riot to hear the MSM go on about it. I love it when they call Rush irrelevant, and then talk about him on every newscast...not so irrelevant (sp?) I guess! Ha.

See ya at your place.

Sheila

Well, I know for sure my "talking deadheads" comment is gone.

BTW, even if they are trying to get more bandwidth, what does that have to do with comments disappearing? Especially old ones?

BrianR

I can't believe your "talking deadheads" post is gone...that was a good one!

This is making no sense...I'm starting to think it's a conspiracy from the loons on the left...:)

BTW

Speaking of the looney Left, what do you think of the Breck girl, do you think his wife's illnes will help him politically? It's very sad. And pathetic that he would be that ambitious that politics would come before his wife's wellbeing...

Sheila

Good for you. I've been thinking of just getting rid of my cable and not seeing another darn thing on it.
But, then I'd miss movies etc. I watched a real old one last night called "Suspicion", an Alfred Hitchcock. That way I missed a lot of the lies of pundits.
I'm absolutely sick to death of them. I feel like you, I start to get madder as the night wears on.
I got really angry tonight watching Hannity & Colmes
I should have just turned it off.

It doesn't matter any more what Bush does, he's going to be investigated to death right now. The next couple of years until his term is up is going to be one endless Congressional hearing. I, too, am weary of the UpChuckie Schumer grin. He makes my skin crawl.

Sheila

I replied to your question to the Breck girl on my blog so I won't repeat myself.

Peppermint

I enjoy the old movies too, but I'm not going to add to the stats for the ratings on the news shows...

You're right about Bush... that poor guy can't please anyone it seems.

Barbara Boxer said on CSpan "elections have consequences" as she waved the gavel, giving Green Al more time to blather on about global warming...I was thinking "they sure do, and this is just the beginning".

We need to work hard to take back the congress, and to keep the WH...we can do it! The yellow party has to go!

Thanks for stopping by...hope things get better for you (saw your commnents on Brian's).

Pep,

Heading over to your place...

Sheila

Thanks for the kind words. I hope things work out.
I've hit kind of a hard place here recently. My writing is suffering because of it. I've been so busy trying to get things fixed here at home, I don't have the humor I normally do. My pain has been somewhat debilitating, like a sickening pain with the nerve being pinched in my back. Ugh.

When I'm not running around trying to get this job, I spend a lot of time in my lounger taking pain pills trying to ease the pain. It's been a bummer.

Did you see the House vote today

on the Iraq funding? Those yellow bellied dims. All they want is to see Bush lose this war. It is downright sickening. They will do anything to see Bush and the country lose. I can't take them anymore. And, I won't tolerate sitting here not voting in 2008 so that they can easily slip into the WH. That is a disaster for us I think.

Pep,

have you considered seeing an orthopedist? Maybe a chiro isn't up to the job...

It has to be extremely hard to concentrate on the job while being in major pain...

Yes, Pep

I saw the pathetic performance of the dems...you are right they want our defeat because it means getting Bush.

These people have no conscience about what they do to the country...all they want is power. It's their religion.

Hey Brian,

We have a comedy of errors going on here...This sucks!

Wow, it worked!

My comment posted!

Jevica

Sheila

I have only now been able to get on TH and get anywhere. I am feeling like he11 and have to go to my try out job tomorrow.
I had the grandchildren all weekend and my back is killing me.
But, I was writing my new series in my head and posted it on my blog tonight. Come over when you get the chance.
Thanks so much for your concern about me. I really appreciate that. Now I have to jump into bed.

Peppermint

Gosh you've had it rough...hope you get your back squared away, and the job goes well.

Going to your place.

LOL

This thread became really terrifically funny with everyone trying to post, testing if they can post, then having multiple posts show up. It's like a Seinfeld routine.

I saw and responded to your post at my place; thanks. And... I hear you. There is some hope. But we should discuss this over there.

I loved the comedy of errors on this thread!

Hahahaha.

Hey Brian,

Can't believe I'm looking at your post! The question is, will it be here tomorrow? Ha! This has beeen rather comical!

Heading over to your place!

And regarding your comment,Brian

there are good things happening...

That is,

Yes, good things are happening! It just takes time, and we want things to happen quicker...the prob is this has been going on for so long changing course in midstream is a challenge...but I think, as I said we're on the right track...LOL, Brian.

BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

"...Finally I had it! I realized what was causing my endless discontent! That screen with the talking faces!..."

THAT is a CLASSIC!!! And so sadly true.

RANT ON!!!

Snooper

Yup, those talking heads aren't getting my attention or my help with their stats... I love it!!!!

Britt Hume on Fox is about all I can take...thanks for stopping by!

Just a random post

to show you a little love Sheila. Now to send it into the ether . . . .

Sheila

Wow. All the comments going on about TH problems.
I absolutely gave up yesterday morning. It was totally screwed up. Then, when I got on last night after my grand kids left, I was able to get around. Today I haven't had the usual problems.

I've got Chapter II of Juliet's Diary up but it is not for the faint of heart. Ha! Ha! I'm letting some of my anger loose.

Thanks so much for thinking about me Sheila. I feel a little better today. Big doses of ibuprofen are helping and I'm not walking my dog today. The job went well and I think they will hire me. I was able to hide the pain. Grrr...What a predicament to be in. Oh, well, just another day...

Sheila

I wanted to tell you I saw this psychologist on Glenn Beck tonight and they talked about Edwards and his wife and if this campaign is the best thing for them to do right now.
The shrink said he thought it was best because for her to just up and change her life, like just stay home would not be good for her. And, if this is truly how they believe, then it is best.
Just wanted to relay that. Glenn Beck couldn't understand either why they wouldn't do something else, like travel, spend every moment with the kids etc.

Hey Scottie

Thanks for the love...:)

Pep

Yeah, I guess they finally got things worked out on TH!

Thanks for letting me know about Chapter II... I'll be over to your place!

Gosh, I can't believe you were in so much pain while trying to get a job! I'm glad it went well, and you're doing better...

Peppermint

Interesting about the shrink on Glen Beck...

Sheila

Is there a name for that scientific theory? Just kidding. Tanks for the suggestion. However, I cannot give up the Sunday nite hauntings of CSPAN for one. I found they recapped much of the good stuff late nite, when people are naturally pre-occupied. Other than that, I am working through it. For some on the east coast, if we want to check up on what our illustrious __things are doing, just hit SPAN. I think Teddy is the default image with Schumer or Leahy sitting in.

No wonder comedy is so popular. I hope they give up their late niter's too. (Its no good for us) You are right though, its nightmare material.

I have vowed

to stop watching all evening news (including Fox!) until Anna Nicole Smith is completely returned to ashes and dust. Maybe then Greta Van Susteren will discuss something remotely relevant. How in Gods name can anyone dwell on the same tired subject for 60 minutes a day, every single day for months on end?

As to the rest of them, 10 minutes of O'Reilly is enough a night. Even Hannity bores me to tears.

Sundays are now lost. I am mourning the passing of HBO's Rome.

Sheila

You are now in my new series. Come on over when you get the chance.

SJR

I mourned 6 Feet Under when it ended. I could never get into Rome though.

I'm watching American Idol. I can't believe it but I can't stand all night news any more. It's driving me insane. So, now I find myself rooting for these kids.

xpressit

I guess you could call it Tubeless Speciation...or the adaptation of the brain to functioning without the tube...the brain expands it's functions in more useful and productive ways...

Your dose of CSPAN...funny...guess that's reasonable...good luck!

SJR

Oh, man, am I with you on that one!!!It is absolute garbage...

I was so excited when I finally talked my local cable into getting Fox...now I'm as fed up with it as all the rest... I do like Brit Hume, though.

You're right about O'Reilly and Hannity...me too.

Guess the 24 hr cable news has finally done us in...

Tonight I glanced at Bryan Williams for about 2 seconds...he has a permanent look of anguish on his face...it's weird.

Maybe Sundays you could check out the old movies on Turner classics, or go to the History channel...or maybe take a drive...

Hey Pep,

Uh oh...now you got me worried...:)

I'm heading over to your place.

It's amazing how much

I pay for cable and most of the time there is nothing on to watch. I have cablevision [TV and computer] they play the same things [the stations] over and over.

Does anyone have FIOS from Verizon? if so how is it etc?

First Deadwood went then Rome as soon as I get into something it's off.

I can't take the Sunday news shows esp. since the Dems took over.

Jevica

Yeah, I feel the same way.spending a lot, and not getting a lot out of it ..I told my husband when we get our new flat screen(when this TV dies)I want it to have a built in DVD player, then we can have total control over our viewing time, and we just slip the DVD in place...simple!

Sandra says she has really enjoyed the tivo technology...

Good question about Verizon...

Thanks for stopping by!
