The Latest Saga on the State of the Economy

Detroit is finished.

It is astonishing to watch our government and the auto companies wander around the Snake Pit blowing bubbles in soft tones and telling us that we have to make cars at astronomical prices due to union rules and labor to save the industry.

These corp sleazeballs are just drooling frantic liars and hungry parasites now as anybody with any business sense can show that they are finished. GM is $60 bln in debt and how many cars do they have to sell to pay back this sum? Selling a million cars at $60,000 each would only bring them $5 or $6 billion at 5-6% profit and that would take 10-20 years at their current rate to earn this sum. That profit won't even cover the interest on the debt! The principal will NEVER go down. The unions would want pay increases along the line too.

How can Toyota and VW make cars in the US at a profit? Oh! No unions?? No phony legacy costs??

It is now just common gutter-grade politics as the drooling liberals want to pay back their union buddies for voting so good last November.

Your tax dollars will pay for that.

Ch 11 is not appropriate as there is no possible financing from anywhere except our phony government, that is also in deep debt. Ch 7 will force auctions for all GM and Ford plant and equipment and assets. Let somebody else try if they wish.
