Stick With Your GOP Values
It's unfortunate that President Bush has allowed the Socialists to regain popularity. The Socialists will eventually track towards ruining America. Conservatism will be re-born and a New Contract for America will take hold ( remember 1994). I just wish things weren't so cyclical. Unfortunately, we all may have to endure some pain. I have great respect for John McCain. He is far better than the two Communists. I just don't understand how he can possibly call himself a Republican with his immigration stance. Mitt was the true conservative. In a year when people have had it with George Bush, Mitt's allegiance cost him.

Thanks for your insightful comments and thanks for caring enough about America. I also respect Sen.McCain's military service but I don't hold the same respect for his service in the Senate.
I am most upset and cynical because someone with his political credentials comes to representative OUR Party. There is something wrong with the system and the party leadership when Sen. McCain is chosen as the standard bearer. Something needs to be done and it must be something drastic. I am willing to start a new political party if need be- The Conservative Party.
I don't think Mitt's so-called allegiance to President Bush was a factor. He made some comments in support of the President- if that is wrong then the voters who think so are stupid. The Truth is the Truth! President is to be commended for his defense of this nation. I know sometimes it was like pulling teeth, but he was able to be pulled in the "right" direction when necessary. Sen. McCain pulls in a different direction and that is why I will hold my nose, close my eyes and fasten my seat-belt for what is coming ahead.

Amen
Amen to all the above. I just wrote "I have not left my party..my party has left me"
and I agree wholeheartedly that we need a new
Conservative party. I don't like the way the Republicans have gone and I have been saying so for two terms now. I answered a post from the RNC with a request that they take my name off their lists and NO they would not get any money from me!

Thank you for your comments and I will go right now and read your article. Yes, I have done the same thing after the RNC called me looking for donations in 2006 and again this time. Though I haven't as yet left the party, I certainly intend to do so. The GOP is a disgrace at the moment and I for one don't want the stink getting any worse. The "people" stopped the Amnesty Bill and the "people" can create a new political force in this country.
