Your argument that Jesus is a Secular Progressive does not take into account Jesus as both The Son of God yet God and Man. "The Word Became Flesh and Dwelt among us". As The Son of God, He fully submitted to and recognized the the Authority and Divinity of the Father. Secularism recognizes only worldly things and not the sacred.
Progressive means forward moving. God moved forward by releasing us from sin and spritual death in this life and giving eternal life in the next through Jesus Christ. Jesus progressed from Word of God to Son of God and Man, to the last sacrifice to Resurrected and Glorified Man and yet God. Jesus recognizing and obeying the authority of God is divine not progressive. Perhaps where Jesus is perceived as being progressive is in his human interactions. Jesus related to each person He encountered according to the need or challenge of the individual. Each encounter therefore being unique.
