Approaching the Watershed

Beltway

McCain will lose if he continues to run a campaign like this. He has to engage his opponent.

Not my take....

Northern Virginia is getting very blue and we will probably see a sweep this time around giving us two democrat senators. The state itself will also go for Obama. Republicans in the state legislature are finally fighting back but I fear we may already be lost.

My view of the presidential election is somewhat different. A battle between democrats for POTUS is just not all that interesting.

I'm not sure I agree. Whoever wins this one is going to win by a landslide. Either people buy Obama's PR or not. The polls are worthless when a PC-approved black candidate is running. People walk into the voting booth and decide right then whether they can deal with voting for a guy with so much 'hate-whitey' PC leftist baggage. States like Michigan and Pennsylvania amaze me. Every elected official in both of those staes are Democrats. The staes are sinking fast and the only thing they can think of to do is elect ever more radical Democrats. My wreck of a California is headed in the same direction. We'll see...

Beltway Girl's Blog Insight Award

b/c skep41 has been continually cheated out of victories on steech's blog (well, okay, maybe cheated only occasionally considering he was going up against sarge. maybe cheated only once, even. oh, what the hell, maybe not cheated at all, but just bitter, and clinging to his gun and his God)... well, whatever the case may be, skep41 is being awarded the Beltway Girl Blog Insight Award for noting ever so early on that mccain's campaign would never be able to get a crisp, coherent message that was well-packaged and smart enough to sell. let's hope they get it together before it's too late.

note to sarge: mccain hanging on to a one-point lead in VA in latest poll posted to RCP... sarge, you should share this award w/skep, but considering he's so bitter, we'll give him this award to cling to...

congrats, skep! and all kidding aside, skep called this pretty early, and i am now totally, 100% in agreement, and do (seriously) kind of marvel at the fact that he called that so early and so accurately.

Hi beltway girl

hey, I grew up in Michigan. No way will it go red. The Left in concert with the Unions has that state locked up. The mentality of the majority is Party Loyalty as the state spins round the toilet on it's way down. Even the calamity of the Dem Governor's term and the Corrupt Mayor of Detroit have not diminshed their true Blue bloodedness. Not much hope for the Great Lake State.....

Good blog!

catbone dave

you're right, but mccain IS a democrat. the state goes blue either way.

what i really want to see is a pro-life extravaganza by mccain in pennsylvania, coupled with a heavy dose of his economic liberalism. this will torture the casey democrats to the point of fainting and paralysis on election day... this will result, perhaps, in PA going lighter blue with mccain...

and since you're a catbone, you should head over to skep's blog so that you can blog with an actual cat.

i gave that cat an award!

it was before i knew skep was a cat. it doesn't really make any difference, though. his points were good, cat or not.

Skep's a cat?

Well, technically I'm a cat's bone, as in voodoo charm.....but we've got a cat, so I'm in the club....

And McCain blew it in Michigan when he told them during the primaries, "those jobs AREN'T coming back..."

Red States, Blue States

don't worry me like McCain worries me. If he never gets his campaigne "together" it might just be that he's spending his energies thinking about which pin he will stick in his constituency next. Just about the time I start to feel just a little bit comfortable with him, he pulls another really stupid stunt; like cuddling up with La Raza. Again.

Like ole' Frank.......he definately does it his way.

Good Post, BW Girl

BG

I would never begrudge Skep his award. He has a huge advantage being from Leftifornia but I will stack my bitterness up against any man. Those of us who have been handicapped by living in red states for so long have more to overcome.

Take for example the late unpleasantness (WBTS)which has occupied us for quite some time. But here in Virginia, where the spirits of so many of the founders spin in their graves nightly, we have a tradition of bitterness and frustration only equaled by the number of bibles and guns. We lead in xenophobia having a whole category the left coast can only dream of, Yankees!

My friend Skep wields a mighty pen and is richly deserving of these honors.
