Comment on: Life as I know it

Not my Republican Party

sure, Dan

Sure Dan,

It was us Liberals who caused this problem. And now, we're leaving it to you fascists, oh, I mean rightwing Republicans to clean up. Isn't it always that way?

Oh, yeah, check Foley's voting record on social issues, I mean, I know you've never heard of him or anything but his voting record might prove illuminating. Hint: It's not real liberal. But I bet if you wish real hard, you can make believe it is.

Hey, McQ..

Welcome to Townhall.com.

It's nice to see folks like you with different opinions from "us" dropping in to see what we are chatting about.

Not to step on AmeriDans' toes, but I didn't think he was implying that Liberals caused the FoleyGate scandal. I think he was commenting on how the newspapers in FL and ABC knew about this story back in November of '05, and waited till 5 weeks before the election to report on it.

It's interesting that every Republican leader who I have seen comment on this has condemned both Foley and anyone else that might have covered this up. It's also interesting that when a Democrat Representitive actually had sex with a 17-year-old male page, and was put before the House for censure, he was given THREE standing ovations by the Democrat-controlled House (while he turned his back on the House).

Hmmm.. I wonder how many of the Democrats in the House when that event happened are still in the House today...

Sorry for the long comment. McQ, instead of just calling people names, how about stepping up with some solutions to problems. What is the Democrat solution for Iraq? The Global War on Terror? How about the situation in Isreal? Social Security going bankrupt? North Korea? Iran? Plan for alternative energy sources?

As far as I can tell, if the Democrats are going to keep beating the FoleyGate "drum" their platform seems to be "elect us, and we'll keep the Pages safe".

Again, sorry for the long post here, AmeriDan.
