Ms Carroll appeared to me far too eager to do her captors' bidding, her nose wagging back and fourth from behind her glasses as she railed her own government. She seemed hardly a person in fear for her life.

It is also suspicious that she was released without comment and immediately started syndicating her "story" and went on the speakers circuit. She also continues to wear the black chador: a little "solidarity" with her Isalmic fascist brothers and sisters?

Was she instrumental in arranging her own kidnapping? Did she make a deal to split the proceeds with Al Qaeda?

I'm wondering what you suggest that we do. I agree that we don't appease. I think we continue to go after them one terrorist at a time.
